  1. Two minutes plus left. Sabres outshooting the leafs 35-22 and outplaying them badly, and they call Leino for working on the boards. It was NOT A TRIP;. SEE REPLAY. pure crap. Nolan has this team playing very well. No MIller tonight though and that always hurts
  2. I NEVER SAID THEY WANTED HIM. I am only saying that is one of a few places he would go because it was his childhood team, his family is there, etc. It wont happen. But imo, he is better than anyone you have. And I am scared to death the Ducks will go after him. His wife is in California. That is the other place I think he would be willing to go. Anaheim. St Louis? Maybe. I think the Blues can win the Cup now but you give them Miller and look out.
  3. If Miller leaves there are only two places he wants to go. The Islanders are not one of them. We may go deep before the Islanders do. They have been rebuilding for 40 yrs. At least we have a boatload of pics thanks to the way Regier financially raped the Islanders. Miller would go to Detroit as it is his hometown, or California to be near his wife. That is it. I say he stays. You look at Broduer. Miller has alot of game left. And with guys like Steve Ott, Hodgeson and Moulson, the rebuild is not as bad as people try and say. Just like in football, you can rebuild faster in this day and age if you use free agency well. Hopefully Rick Dudley will come to town and get this done in an effective and swift way
  4. Well thanks for the sarcastic info. He came from the Penguins org and it was previously thought he had a more hands on approach with Regier. I guess Pegula has a soft spot for PA folks. Unlike me.
  5. I am assuming Ted Black got whacked also? He was the president. I cannot find anything
  6. If you think Howard is better than Miller than you know nothing about hockey
  7. I know many of you believe Miller wants to be traded to the Detroit Red Wings and win a Cup. But I do not agree. I think it matters to him where he wins one. And if he has to wait in Buffalo a couple years, I think he is now more inclined to do so. He can go to the Olympic team and take on Quick, who he should beat out for the start. To me Miller is the best, easily. Quick just hurt his groin too. Bad timing for him. Miller stoned the Kings, proving again his worth. Expect even better now that new guys are here and he is happy to see Lafontaine aboard. I am for keeping Miller no matter the cost.
  8. Great that Ted is getting this shot. And knowing him he will make the most of it. If he wins, it will be very difficult this time justifying not keeping him on. I wish him the best. It was a shock when he was replaced by Ruff but in hindsight I do love Lindy too. Happy to see Ted get this chance.
  9. They can use some of those picks for established players. So I do not think its going to take that long to build a winner if done right. Guys like Steve Ott, Moulson and Hodgeson are already good players. They need a few more. i do not know you just bank on guys like Armia for example being great in a few years. You have to do it via free agency too and draft picks are money in the bank We had a bunch of bums with Nolan in 97 and won
  10. Does anyone know if Black was fired too?
  11. I think this post is now meaningless
  12. I am ten minutes finding out this news. I see Miller with Lafontaine and I am shocked. I think since this is my team I need to chime in as most of the responses are from Flyers fans who really do not want us to succeed. Why would Nolan come back? Is he that desperate? He was coach of the year and then gets no contract. I cannot remember that ever happening i any sport. Perhaps it was part due to his being an Indian? I cannnot rule it out. Buffalo has its first ever black QB. Short term Nolan will fire the team up. Long term, I believe Pegula may have made a big big mistake with the timing and Regier was doing a great job of piling up these 12 picks. Maybe he just did not trust him on how to use them. But in comes a great player, and great players selddom make great coaches or GM's. Example, Wayne Gretsky. I tuned in last night towards the end wondering how they would find a way to screw up another incredible performance by Miller. If they are smart, they do not trade Miller. They have more damn picks than Xmas cookies. They need to keep Miller and build around him He is not old. Broduer is old. Too soon to say if this is good or bad or just a knee jerk reaction by a millionaire. But I would like to hear Lindy Ruff's take on this. He is the one guy I trust and respect. Carry on
  13. I think its natural that if the rest of the team is not producing and putting out 100 percent players get the attitude "why should I then , and why should I go into the corners and risk injury when I am not getting any help". A shakeup is needed even though we know that major moves are coming with all those draft picks we have. Regier has to do it right. But will Pegula give him the chance to? I do not think Rolston can keep this job much longer if the players do not wake up
  14. I am very sure he played longer and had more games. Just look, do you see Bobby Orr on that list? So are all those guys better than Orr? Hell NO. Raw stats are misleading at times. Orr, Bossy and Martin are three guys who were incredible and had their carrers cut short by injuries. Orr's being knee problems. Turgeion is not even close to the player Perreault was.
  15. After last nights fiasco in Anaheim, Rolston needs to go. Not because of the score. But because of his benching Moulson, Ennis and Hodgeson, three of the most talented guys we have right now. This is just nuts. And Cory Tropp plays? Give me a break
  16. Nov 7th 1986 Gilbert Perrault, the greatest Sabre of all time, scores his last two goals. 512 for his carreer and many many more assists, Perrault was amazing to watch and even the great Waybe Gretsky grew up watching him. Number 11 could skate like the wind and he could stick handle as good as any I have seen along with Orr. The art of stickhandling seems to have gone away a bit. You see more passing than guys trying to win those one on one battles by keeping control of the puck. Speed is necessary to do this of course and Perrault could just explode and keep control of the puck. Like Ty Cobb once said he would rather run the bases than hit a home run, Perrault was an unselfish player who would rather get a great assist and let Martin or Robert slam it home than himself. If he had been more selfish I believed he would have scored more goals. But he is very high on the all time point list. The greatest Sabre to ever put on the Buffalo uniform.
  17. Many disagree with you including the writer for CBS. Miller is the best goalie. Period.
  18. http://www.cbssports.com/nhl/eye-on-hockey/24204119/ryan-miller-bolstering-trade-value-us-olympic-candidacy-with-strong-start
  19. Go look at his save percentage. Its off the charts. How can you steal games when your team does not score? Idiots
  20. CBS Sportsline has Miller on the front page and they believe either St Louis or the Islanders should make a play for him. But what do they have to offer us for such a great player? Nothing. So IMO we are better off paying Miller and giving him a big contract rather than lose him. We are loaded with draft picks. Do not need any more. Need only proven players if he is traded and they had better be big names
  21. Its quite an advantage for Quick playing for a veteran winning team. Put Miller there and he would do the same. He is doing it with no help. He is stopping over 45 shots a night. I think the two of them will be selected. Who starts may depend on how they do vs other countries in the early rounds. I think its Miller's job to lose in all fairness. Miller would have a Cup also if not for our 4 starting defensemen going down vs Carolina. We go to the third period with a 3-2 lead and our defense was all Rochester. The winner of that game everyone knew would win the Cup as Edmonton had pulled off the unimaginable and made it to the finals as an 8 seed. Everyone knew that Buffalo or Carolina would destroy them. Miller has been to two Eastern Conference finals and that was one of them. Now he is the last from a very good team. Last night they looked very good. Quick robbed us blind on many occasions. But they are showing life. They are young and there are 12 picks to cash in.
  22. Last night qualifies. 47 saves. You go see how many games we lost 2-1 that could have been 8-1
  23. I know you have no respect for the Bleacher report, but you cannot deny that Miller has been stellar playing for a team that is overmatched night in and out. He has been stellar. His goaltending has been spectacular. He is a battle tested veteran who has been to conference finals and won the MVP in the Olypmics. Miller is the best whether you like it or not
  24. If we could play the Sharks every night we would be a great team. Ryan Miller again shows why he is the best goalie in hockey. Bring it on. I will back this statement up no matter. In full rebuild mode, perhaps he is willing to wait it out to see how Darcy uses those 12 big picks in his pocket? They will be the key to our future how he uses them. All number 1 and 2 picks. That is alot of picks. Some no doubt will be traded. If Miller goes, he has earned the right to demand alot from Darcy. I do not know if it will happen, I know offers will come but if they are not great, keep Miller and move on and build knowing you have a great net minder to speed up the process. Losing a goalie like Miller is not acceptable to me. The only question is, will he want to stay? If the Olympic team puts him on the roster, he may. That is no doubt part of his motivation.
