  1. Are you kidding me? All you need now is a time machine to take you back to 1967. Why would you want to jinx your team already. You already shocked the world by making the playoffs next year. So now you assume you will again make it? It may not be so easy. I assure you teams like the Sabres and Flyers can bounce back and teams like the Islanders and Toronto can regress to their usual form.. Something I expect personally.

  2. Last year? When he was 2.81/.915? Or the year before that when he was 2.54/.916? Or the year before that when he was 2.59/.916? Or in 08-09 when he was 2.53/.918? Or 07-08 when he was 2.64/.906?

In fact, Miller had one breakout season in which he was .3 below the 2.5 GAA he usually sports, and has had one season in which he was .3 above that.

Jonathan Quick's HIGHEST GAA as a starter in a season EVER was 2.54.

    That's Miller's AVERAGE.

Niemi's highest GAA as a starter in a season? 2.42.

    Miller beat that ONCE.

Niemi is not even in Miller's class. Ha. Joke. Ill take Miller and Lundquist over anyone.

  3. @Hockey Junkie Um, you do realize that Quick is one the "California teams" goalies? "None of them are Miller"....wow, that is pretty ballsey. Quick is certainly better and Nemi is also. Don't get the Miller love, there is no stats to back it up. Without looking I'd bet Quick's and Nemi's stats were both superior to Miller's the past few years. I realize you're excited about the team you are going to ice next year, but that statement looked a little out of whack.

Miller has had many a good season and been to two conference finals and won alot of playoff games. Because LA won the Cup does not mean Quick is better. No way is Quick better and Nemi is far behind Miller. No way can he stop a breakaway like Miller. Ill take Miller in a shootout over any goalie in hockey. Any. Maybe you are basing it all on last year when his defense hung him out to dry?

  4. Music to my ears. We will have their leadership along with Steve Ott and with the youth they have its a good mix. We have a defense that is monstrous. Miller will have more help this go. The Sabres will be better than you think. The big question is going to be, if we are winning, and stay in the race, does he give Vanek and Miller new contracts that obviously are not going to be peanuts. But they must be reasonable to our organization also. I know they want to win in a Sabres jersey more than any other jersey. The only teams Miller would really consider would be Detroit (he is from there and grew up a Wings fan and his mother is there), or one of the California teams. But all of them are happy with their goalies. None of them are Miller but they are good.

  5. If he mess's up with Miller, Vanek or Ott, I am going to drive to Buffalo myself. I almost ran over Rob Ray one night accidentally when he was running to the stadium on his cell phone, crossing the cobblestone road that houses a bar that is packed before all games. If I had knicked him I would have been pummeled. But I like Rob, so happy I missed him. Darcy? I do not forgive him for firing lindy. Many do not. Ruff would have been wiser of us to keep. But now we have this guy that was probably picked on during school. His interviews indicate he is not stupid. I wonder how much rope Black and Regier and Pegula have given him? Not as much as Lindy had I am sure. Right this ship now Mr Regier. RIGHT IT DAMN YOU!!!!

  6. Though I do not have a crystal ball and cannot see what will happen with Miller and Vanek? The biggest decision to be made in this franchise maybe ever. I would not in any way let them go, play out this season and see how the new players gel with the veterans. But Buffalo is due to make some type of a move. The 360 on Sulzer now staying is baffling to me. Maybe they decided to keep him for depth in case of injuries on defense? Far more questions than answers and plenty to worry about in the immediate. But the Sabres have drawn some praise for moving forward down the road. Hopefully these two draft picks live up to their expectations.

Happy to see Roy in St Louis. Wish him well

  7. I'd be shocked if Briere ends up back in Buffalo. Islanders seem like the most logical choice. close to his family, and they are a playoff team while the Sabres are in a rebuild.

Now wait just a minute there pal. The Islanders made the playoffs for the first time in how long? And now you are going to annoint them a playoff team? They may just as easily wind up sweeping the cellar again. And the Sabres are not without a chance if they are smart enough to retain Miller and Vanek and we know Ott is going no where. So do not comletely count the Sabres out and put teams like the islanders and florida in. None of us know how this will play out. There is alot of deals left before the puck drops. So lets wait and see how the teams look before we jump to conclustions. Tim Thomas by the way could wind up in Philly. I thought the Islanders had his rights? I think Roy will be signed somewhere. Why not Minnesota?

  8. I've been hearing the Islanders are interested in Briere which makes sense as he would still be close to his sons. I think Briere's best days are over. You are probably better off without him

No way does he chose the Island over Buffalo. Report is we are talkiing to Hodgeson now. What the hell is there to talk about. Sign him you idiots!! And Vanek and Miller. And Briere too. There are so many rumours nobody knows what to believe until its final. Tim Thomas? Is he going to play on the Island? Derick Roy is not going to be re signed by Vancouver. I wonder if he will go to Dallas again to join Lindy? I think the Wild should grab him as he has good chemistry with Pommenville. We all have to sweat for the next month or so. I know you guys are excited in Philly to get Lecavalier. And you should be. He is still good. Smart with the puck. Can he hell with Giroux on the PP. I know Briere let you guys down with injuries. But do you truly think he is done? How old would he be? I just get sick over the thought of losing Miller or Vanek. Sick

  9. Yes he is also talking to other teams but one has to think Buffalo would have the edge where his heart is concerned? Those he did not like are gone. There was magic when he and Vanek were on the ice. Maybe he can bring back some damn magic. Why not. I think he realizes he should have stayed. His numbers would have been better. Ill bet Dallas is on that list too? Lindy Ruff and him did not have a problem. I once said I would never want to see him again. Now I may be willing to see him in camp.

  10. I am a bit surprised Darcy did not trade a pick for an established player? perhaps he tried and just could not work anything out? I am sure he was on the phones. I doubt this coach we have had any say whatsoever on anything. Unlike in Vancouver were I am sure Tortorella had some input with Gillis. I wish the Sabres had gone wtih James Patrick if they were going to give some young guy a shot. Not Rolston. I still do not know why Rolston got the job. Its not like Rochester did that well with him.

  11. Does anyone think he is still worth alot on the market? I wonder where he will wind up? I sure hope not a Ranger. I am sick of them buying up all the talent. Time for Pegula to put up some money. A friend of mine in Vancouver says the Canucks may want Leino. So that would open some cap room

  12. Given the recent developements one must think Luongo could be high on Philly's list to replace their goalie? Or, no, I do not even want to think it. Miller? Na. Luongo. Well NHL.com has Luongo as the top prospect to go to philly. Miller 4th.

  13. Pegula deserves every. single. bit. of criticism he's getting. 16 years with the same GM and the team is going backwards and then the GM comes on at the end of the year and talks about "suffering" that fans are going to have to deal with for the next few years and a full rebuild. Then the owner comes on and says he wants to keep Miller and Vanek and how the Sabres can be a part of UFA still. It seems the like the Sabres have no plan and are just going with flow.

Why dont we reserve judgement until after the draft and see how they handle the Vanek, Miller situation? Too soon to start hurling insults on a man that is keeping a team here. We have alot more to work with than is stated here. We did not miss by much and maybe its better than getting in and being embarrassed like Minnesota did? I believe Darcy will right this ship. After all, he has a pretty big gun being held to his head

  14. @Hockey Junkie

I think he could play for the Sabres. I think it is more likely though he will end up with the Islanders or Devils.

Perhaps he will join Lindy in Dallas? Or are you basing it on his home? I do not think he would ever play for the Islanders. He has a better chance to win in Buffalo than on the Island. But I doubt Regier would go there
