ChrisAU
If you had Gordie Howe's stick from 1964/65 season, signed by a heap (all?) of the team...how would you go about preserving it? My Dad got given this by either Sid Abel or Gordie. They didn't win the cup that year but finished on top at the end of the season I believe. I want to make sure it's looked after so I can pass it down to my kids eventually. Living in Australia there's not a heap of interest in hockey but I realize it's a pretty special item and any ideas or tips on stopping it from decaying or fading would be appreciated, Cheers. flyercanuck
I think as long as you keep it in a dry dark area it should be fine. The sun will fade those autographs. But it's 50 years old already, and it's not composite so it isn't going to explode on it's own. Unless you want to have a plexiglass case built for it....it should last a long time the way it is and give your kids and grandchildren something to wonder about (WTF is THAT?) Now about that chair....
WingNut722
Now about that chair....it came with the stick. That's how he got everybody to autograph it, if he promised to take it out of Sid's living room.
