Chicago Hawkie
What will happen in tonight's game? Will the Blackhawks bounce back after that travesty in Toronto last night? Neither team's top goalie (Crawford for us and Quick for them) will be playing due to injury, so how will that play out? I am tired from the workweekend, so I wasn't aware that the Hawks were playing tonight until I was about to go to work this morning, so I don't have much commentary to begin this thread, but I am off tomorrow, so I can watch all of this game tonight! Chicago Hawkie
The Hawks have done what no other teams has been able to do this season ... That is, score 3 goals in the first period against the LA Kings when the Kings are the road team. Hossa, Versteeg, and Sharp scored for the Hawks, and Hossa's goal was shorthanded. Chicago Hawkie
The Hawks are still leading 3-0 after the second period, although the Kings improved their game in this period. Antti Raanta is having a good game after that tough loss last night.
Chicago Hawkie
HAWKS WIN!! The Hawks win this one, 3-1. It got a little scary near the end on the third period, when Andrew Shaw took an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty late in the game after the Kings scored. It was great to see Antti Raanta bounce back from last night's game. He nearly got a shutout. The Kings were quite the hot team before this game, and this was an important win for the Hawks. yave1964
The Hawks bounced back very nicely from their inexplicable blowout loss to the Leafs the night before. Solid all around game from the best team in hockey.
Chicago Hawkie
@yave1964 Yes, it seemed like the Hawks had an off-night vs. the Leafs. I was a little suprised that Raanta started the game last night, with it being back to back games for him, but he was more than up for the challenge. I think last night's game vs. the Kings was a good playoff preview ...
goalnut3133
Congrats Hawkie! An amazing game, practically a clinic put on by the Hawks! It's a shame Raanta didn't get his shutout & LA scored at the very end, but you really had them looking lost for most of the game, the Hawks were just too quick for them. Chicago Hawkie
@goalnut3133 Hi goalnut! It was even better considering that debacle in Toronto the night before. The Kings are a good team, and showed that Sunday night, but the Hawks were ... well, the Hawks!
