Brad Stuart: Negative impact

All season last season, I complained about how badly Stuart dragged the pairings of the Sharks down, and then was amazed when we were able to secure a 2nd round pick for him. Braun CARRIED him all year.

This year, while we are only 10+ games in, the effect is already being seen in Colorado.

Corsi% is not perfect obviously. But shots for vs shots against when you are on the ice at ES matters eventually.

Stuart is sitting on a meh 37% Corsi. His most common partners, Holden and Barrie.

Holden's Corsi is at 27.5% with Stuart on the ice, and 42% when paired with someone else.

Barrie's Corsi is at 44.5% with Stuart, and 47% when paired with someone else.

He has seen some limited time with Guenin, Hejda and Johnson.

Guenin is the only teammate Stuart improves, with a 40.4% corsi with him, and 32.2% corsi without Stuart.

Johnson's numbers with Stuart were awful.28.6% corsi with Stuart, and 45.7% without him.

Hejda's corsi with Stuart sits at 40.5%, while it improves to 46.6 without Stuart.

The one area Stuart is doing okay in is on the PK. Mostly because he is a pylon and blocking shots while staying close to the middle and blocking lanes is about all he is good for. That and he can ice the puck instead of finding a guy to pass to(When he makes most of his horrible decisions)

The impact on forwards when he is on the ice is just as bad.

With Stuart: Iginla 36.3, Mackinnon 39.7, McGinn 30.3, Landeskog 45.4, Tanguay 37.6, O'Reilly 47.1

Without Stuart: Iginla 40.3, Mackinnon 48.3, McGinn 41.7, Landeskog 50.2, Tanguay 45.8, O'Reilly 51.1

Amazing how much he drags everyone else on the ice down with him

Thanks for the 2nd round pick Avs. Why in god's name did you sign him to an extension before he even played a single game for you?
