Podein25
Some might find this study on how tax rates in different regions (states, provinces) affect player mobility in the NHL: http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/shot-nearly-6-in-10-nhl-free-agents-pick-low-tax-teams/article/2556268 Study here: I had no idea huge swaths of America had become high tax socialist paradises! JackStraw
I'm sure the two organizations that put together this "study" have no agenda of their own... Is it possible that Pouliot left the Rangers simply because they didn't have the cap space to give him as much as a cap-floor team like Edmonton? And of course here in the US you pay your state income tax based on your residency. I imagine Canadian players who play for the Flyers pay Philadelphia's city wage tax but that's probably a lot less than their taxes in Canada.
