Streit Back Skating

Now if he'd occasionally do some back Checking I'd be even more thrilled. :-)

 

 

 

Streit was never signed for his back checking or defensive prowess.

 

 

hence "occasionally."

 

I'm not looking forward to Streit coming back into the lineup. I would say it cost Gagner his job but obviously he never had a chance at earning one (mistake=Hakstol). But Streit served his purpose, he was exactly as expected and by all accounts was (is) a good "team guy."

 

But when the Flyers part company with him they'll be better off. There's no reason to carry one-dimensional players anymore, whether they're goons or pylons or "offensive D-men" who don't backcheck, which Streit is in spades. Gostisbehere makes Streit particularly irrelevant to the Flyers. I only hope he plays well enough to fetch some interest come TD time.
