JVR has to be one of the most overrated players around. He had a good 6 games in the playoffs last year, and all of a sudden he is a high valued commodity. He is more inconsistent than Jeff Carter.

There is little chance of a buyout period in the new cba. There is even a smaller chance that if there is, they will buy bryz out after just one season. More likely they would buy Pronger out. I don't know the details of loaning to KHL, but I would be interested to see if that can work. I have my doubts. He also has a NMC, so he isn't going to the AHL. I also don't see them doing a penalized buyout because that is just a truckload of cash to hand him, not to mention the wasted cap space. And yes I know that the first few years aren't bad cap-space wise. But wasted cap space will go on for a long time. And there are a few season of a really high hit that would really effect the roster.

Pretty much that is what will happen. Homer has seen to that. I will still watch the team because maybe they can improve the defense and that will help. Not to mention I am a fan and watch them even when they suck. With bryz they will be a good team, but they certainly won't win a championship. It's not like they will be fighting for the top pick each season.

This defense is definitely soft. That Sens goal in the Sunday game where 2 sens pounded the puck in while 3 flyers watched, was a microcosm of that.

He is done. Best he can hope for now is recovering to have a normal life.

Nothing I would guess. I can't see them doing a buyout period unless the new cap goes down significantly. I would also be shocked if there isn't a work stoppage. They can't even come to terms on ******* realignment...

Not at all. Not sure if he will be a bust, but he certainly hasn't been great. To label him a success or a bust, you need more than 30 games or so.

He was slow from day one, the difference was that he had the strength to stay on the puck and win board battles. With his F**ked up groin, he can't do that. He is also turning the puck over too much. Though so is Giroux. Definitely should rest Jagr.

That will never get a Weber-type. There will always be a team that will give him a 10 year deal. And frankly, giving him a 10 year deal is fine. Giving 35+ year old players long term deals is stupid.

Bryz's contract is infinitely more untradeable than Richards and Carters. At least R and C were actually putting up good stats. They were just lockerroom douchebags. Bryz appears to both suck and be a douche to his teammates. And has a NMC. And is signed for eternity.

Richards will get it together at some point. Maybe not this season, but eventually. He is a good player when he wants to be. Carter is a douche and I can't stop laughing at the fact that he is on an awful team and has to live in Ohio.

The first one was borderline bad. But not entirely his fault. The 2nd was bad because of timing and softness. Even absolving him of 1 and 3, the 2nd one was brutal and should never have happened.

If the new CBA yields a penalty-free buyout period, you seriously have to consider it for him and Pronger. Assuming Bryz doesn't get better both on and off the ice.
