  1. LOL, I've been awaiting that reaction, but then, for the most part, most everyone on this site has dealt with a forum gone bad. I have to say it brought back some memories when 200 Flyer fans joined this site in a couple of days. Silly.com never recovered but it still exists after 7 years.
  2. @Megawild Thank you for choosing to support this site and become a supporting member.
  3. If you want these folks to get a notification type the @ in front of the name. @Blyan @Villette/Lavaux @Icechipper are members here. The others haven't registered with the exact screenname
  4. That's the difference between a corporate forum like the NHL forums, reddit, that other HF site and a custom site like this. I like the plugins and applications to create a better user experience for everyone. If my daughter would ever finish my new likes buttons as I've desired they all would be hockey related. Free graphic design comes with a long wait time. lol. The next upgrade adds some new stuff as well including all the emoji from your phones. I've been distracted though in a good way from getting this done. (hopefully by the end of the long weekend) oh and btw, the area code I grew up with was ... 218

  6. I'm counting 32 have joined here since Fri night. But add that to Devin who was already here and you are at 33 from the nhl wild forum.
  7. I had to look it up. lol as it hasn't been an issue.
  8. @pilldoc Currently members have 25 likes /day. Supporting members have unlimited likes and more perks too.
  9. Go For it... The Flyers forum does have a head start with 226 pages of topics, ... but I do have hope for you all. You are all also not limited to just the walls of the Wild forum, as I know many of you are hockeyfans and are welcomed to post and create topics throughout the website.

  12. On Nov 1, 2011, this site was created followed by a mass exodus from the philly.com forums which began in 2003. Those forums were infiltrated with trolls, the software didn't work, and the site lacked any admin moderation due to budget cuts at the newspaper. Over 200 Flyer fans joined this site in a couple of days. If you click the link in the first sentence you will see that that forum never recovered. LOL. And one more thing. On Oct 31st, 2011 longtime member @ruxpin wrote a rant that should have been forever kept in the HF.net hall of fame. ... and here we all are.

  14. The Flyers forum on nhl.com only lasted maybe 2 years. They never got a decent start as all of the Philly.com Flyer fans had migrated here and another Flyer forum had another group. It started out with the new website designs as every team having a message board, but they've been dwindling. The most active one has always been the Canucks forum.
  15. The side not on the ice.
  16. lol, That image was made by @ruxpin, will need to fix the blurriness... kind of an inside joke, but ricking the chatbox was created in like of our very favorite saber's fan on this site
  17. I was already following him.

  19. to your first post of many more to come here.
  20. Interesting comments on the brightness. I've pretty much stuck to the original 50 shades of grey concept that the original owner of this site started with of course my own additional tweaking. I'll look into an alternative darker theme option this summer. I think we generally went with the tones of grey for the most part so that the site was work friendly. I can purchase an app which will allow some individual theming in the area located where the Forum name / logo is as a background. Ideally, I would like a grey toned background image with highlights of the team colors. ie something like this with maybe an additional green outline of the trees. Or a grouping of the star players of each team with some color highlights. My youngest daughter is a graphic designer, but her time always seems very limited for free work. And yes having an admin, group of moderators, and supporting members who care about the site for all hockey fans is probably unique. Spam generally doesn't make it through the initial 5 post-approval process. We can weed out the nonfans pretty quickly. All members can report posts as an alert of some heated posts or a topic which might take some cleaning up. Generally, we just hide posts as needed. Members who have trouble playing nice with others tend to get moved to a grouping where their posts need approval. I also plan to give a couple of you new Wild fans moderator status for the Wild forum. This way you can merge topics, hide posts etc also.
  21. That's more posts than I have. lol. I do read reddit, and post a lot of their streamable videos. Find info etc for topics too. This site will probably have more of a community feel to it as we are a lot smaller and the software is the same as the NHL's forums while there are a lot more unique features here, and I'm always up for new ideas to make the site better. We have our own fantasy hockey leagues, we have ways to promote bloggers, and one activity I enjoy doing is our mock draft. Where members get to draft the player of their choice as they impersonate the teams GM. I find it an excellent way to study all of the top prospects.
  22. I think you all will enjoy it here.
