  1. It doen't appear as if Tootoo tried to get out of Miller's way. It doesn't appear as if he tried to slow up. And he lost the puck. But I also don't think it was intentional. I think what also needs to be looked at here is Miller pounding Tootoo's head in the ice.
  2. http://video.nhl.com...id=35&id=139657 Wow first game back, lol. Check out Miller pounding Tootoo's head in the ice. This one gets a suspension.
  3. So of my four choices, the only one that has merit is Jagr seems to have some game back.
  4. Laviolettes pre-game interview stated that Schenn will get some PP time and that this is a brand new start for him. There are other noteables in tonights game: Hopefully Bryz plays strong in net. Jagr is recovered and is able to play the entire game without further injury. Does Walker play and how does he fit in the defensive mix? and last I want to see Hiller's 3-D mask.
  5. So what do you think about the Kane experiment at center?
  6. Yeah Bak, Really cool! Can't wait to check it out on the ice tonight!
  7. Does anyone know when the tickets will come in the mail?

    Survival without Pronger

The Flyers have a tough task at hand over the next four weeks if they want to stay in the playoff race through out the month of December. We have 13 games ahead of us until the Classic showdown against the Rangers. Of those thirteen games only three, the Penguins, Lightening, and Bruins will be home games. In addition over the month of December all of the teams we play against except for maybe the Avalanche are currently playoff contenders. The Flyers will need to play each game, each period and each shift in survival mode in order to win without their captain. Pronger has shown to have a significant effect on the team's ability to win games. Not only does he play a lot of minutes but the stats show that his play on the ice gives this team a better chance to win every night. Over the last two seasons the Flyers have a record of 41-18-7 when Pronger plays, without him they are 23-19-8. This shows that the team has only been able to win about 55% of their games when Pronger doesn't play. Pronger's presence on the ice affects all aspects of the game. The opposition has shown to score an average of 3.06 goals per game without Pronger compared to only 2.64 goals per game when he plays. In addition, the Flyers power play percentage drops from 19.9% to 12.3% when he is not present. While the quality of our power play decreases the opposition's power play percentage increases from an average of 15.9% to 19.6%. The numbers state the obvious and that is this team has a much more difficult time winning games without their leader on and off the ice. So can the Flyers survive this task ahead of them and stay in the playoff race? Last year's Eastern conference 9th place team the Hurricanes did not make the playoffs winning only 49% of their games, while the 6-8 place teams made it winning just 52% of the games. The parity of the league seems even tighter this season as both 9th and 10th place teams are winning 50% of their games and that there are 5 teams just 2 points out of 8th place. If the Flyers can win 55% of their games over the next month the stats show that it may be enough to keep them in a playoff race, but that seems much too close for comfort.
  9. tsn.ca has a transaction page but Walker isn't on it, so it might not have the waivers
  10. csnphilly reporting this also http://www.csnphilly.com/blog/flyers-talk/post/Walker-to-rejoin-Flyers--if-he-clears-wa?blockID=603974&feedID=695
  11. HBO hoping for more cameras, more access to Flyers, Rangers by Travis Hughes on Dec 1, 2011 5:55 PM EST in News HBO'S 24/7 is sadly not with the Flyers full time right now, meaning the current road trip out West won't be documented on the show, which debuts December 14 at 10 p.m. ET. But that's okay, because they're currently working on getting even more access to the Flyers and Rangers than they had a year ago with the Penguins and Capitals. Via the Canadian Press: Virtually the same 50 people who worked on last year's series are back again, including producers Scott Boggins and Bentley Weiner, and narrator Liev Schreiber. But viewers can expect some changes. For one, HBO is hoping to gain even more access than it had a year ago, when it showed footage from inside the dressing rooms, training rooms, players' houses, team planes and even the NHL's video room on a disputed goal review. "I can't really tell you what (else we'll do) yet because it's not approved, but we're hoping for other microphones and cameras in places outside the rink that'll give you a feel for everything that's being decided and going on," said Harmon.
  12. @Jack LOL I feel so much better, Thank you.
  13. Walker would have to clear waivers in order to be traded. Unless Homer is using this as an example of waiver issues that need to be addressed in the new CBA, this is just a throw your hands in the air " what the hell" type move.
  14. Any GM that wants to stick to Holmgren and his Flyers Start with the teams that are at the bottom of the pack first. Holmgren interviewed yesterday stated that many teams are looking to add a defenseman so it would be unrealistic to trade for one. So let us just give them one while we pay for half of it. wtf.
  15. Has Homer completely lost it? If Walker is picked up by another club then half of 1.7M is permanently on our cap for the remainder of the season. http://www.broadstre...adelphia-flyers Digity, we need a new category (Re-entry Waivers)
  16. Unless the team quit playing for the coach. Wonder if Carlyle will end up in Toronto?
  17. Yeah, I noticed that, those ski hats are nice btw.
  18. LOL maybe that was the intention I'm not that surprised, firing the coach is generally happens first and is more preferable than trading away one of the key players to a team. So now where does Carlyle go?
  19. I thought it was odd during the two b to b games that bob started that Bryzgalov was standing in the aisle rather than sitting on the bench. If the reason was to keep a distance from the rest of the team due to illness, then that completely makes sense. Thus Bryz was not benched and Bob was the better choice to give the team a chance for the win.
  20. True, there were 5 other d-men playing, but are you forgeting that some of Bryz's problems in October were due to communication breakdowns in the defensive end and they were for the most part when the other defensemen were on the ice. Add that to the observation that Pronger isn't replaced by just any backup d-man and a few bad bounces of skates and Bryz is down a couple of goals. Within minutes this team is playing from behind. As for the next month, if the defense isn't able to play better in front of Bryzgalov this team will have more losses than wins in the month of December.
  21. I think Holmgren is and was exploring defensive trade options. But with the entire league so tight this year in the standings that option will be difficult. I read this morning and it makes sense as to why our team struggles so when Pronger is out of the line-u[. And that is it takes two defensemen to cover what Pronger does.
  22. This clip was created for Phantoms 1980s Night, which was on Nov. 25. It was a celebration of the hair bands that visited the Glens Falls Civic Center, and a time when hockey was apparently played without goaltenders (based on the stats we've seen). Number 19 in your programs, and now No. 1 in your hearts, is center Luke Pither(notes), who may or may not be channeling Thomas Jane from "Boogie Nights." "The guys were great. Luke Pither was the star of the video. We went to him and asked him who he thought would work best," said Matt Valinski, director of marketing. He drafted forward Jason Akeson(notes), defenseman Kevin Marshall(notes) and forward Tye McGinn(notes) for the shoot. Valinski said all of them took to it well, and needed little choreography. "For a lot of the dancing, the guys would say 'Alright, you just want me looking at the camera and moving, right?'" he said. Kevin Marshall (No. 4), called up to the Flyers in the wake of Chris Pronger's(notes) injury, seems to have mastered the sensual sway of Robert Palmer's overly made-up backup band; yet, at the end, he's gone all Wham! on us. Then there's the scene in which the players attempt to outrun a space-time warp tunnel and then disappear. Which is actually how waivers work. The scene with the tumbling dice and the players running in place? Inspired by the classic Starship video, according to Valinski: "In the actual video, for reasons unknown to me, there are people being run down by a giant pair of dice." Oh yeah, about that 1980s-style Whitesnake move with the girl on the hood of the car? Turns out their mascot has that covered: [CLICK HERE TO WATCH] Thanks to Phantoms for giving the world this video. You may not be the Belfast Giants. But the Belfast Giants also didn't have such amazing special effects. (My god, his head has descended from the ceiling, where he was no doubt dancing!) The big question: Will there be a holiday offering from the Phantoms? "We are planning on doing a Christmas video," said Valinski. http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/blog/puck_daddy/post/Video-Adirondack-Phantoms-8216-Built-This-82?urn=nhl-wp18474
