Yes he is still playing. On April 7, 2011, Kapanen announced that he would be doing a comeback as a player in KalPa, playing on a two year contract. He, however, stepped down as the club's chief executive officer (CEO) and instead handed that role over to his brother Kimmo Kapanen.
Cap Space Harry had to be sent down, to make room for Bourdon or Marshall so the team could dress 6 defensemen. Shelley would have to clear waivers, and there wasn't enough time to proceed with that process if Holmgren wanted. Harry went to Trenton on paper, basically. This was Nodl's first game back due to a knee injury.....his play was ok last night. Nodl is a defensive forward. Considering there were 10 players with a -1 last night, Nodl wasn't one of them.
Ha, I wish I had him on all my fhl teams last night. I didn't watch the game, but good for him. Like him or not he is an elite player in the league and the NHL is better off with him healthy. Letang is having a great year as well. Talbot has been a great addition to the Flyers, I loved to dislike him as a Penguin for the same reason why I like him now. He quickly became part of the core to the Flyers success this season. Make sure you join all of us in the game chat room when the Flyers play the Penguins.
Patrick Thoresen Sammy Kapanen Jeff Woywitka I'll give a vote for Jeff Carter the face-off Beast. But my most missed player has probably been Justin Williams
Coburn has a kidney bruise and not allowed contact for a few days, and Pronger has a virus. http://www.csnphilly.com/blog/flyers-talk/post/Pronger-ill-Coburn-has-kidney-bruise?blockID=598300&feedID=6572

Jagr back skating and taking shots today. Tomorrow's game is still questionable. I actually hope he takes a couple more days off to make sure he is completely healed.
yeah, Z will most likely sent down first. But I don't think there is enough cap space though to carry a 7th -dman and schenn without removing Shelley unless Rinaldo goes to the phantoms as well.
I think his statement needs to be kept in context also. He made the statement while the talk of the town was that the Coyotes might move to Winnipeg, and ashe was looking forward to becoming a FA. I think he was really saying is that he had no plans to stay a Coyote.
Longer than we all would like, that's for sure! But he still will get ice time as long as Jagr is out of the line-up. My guess would be that Shelley gets put on waivers when Schenn is ready to play. They have 1.1M or something close to that available right now on the team. And that is with 6 defensemen. Schenn will probably get some time in the AHL, but then he should be called back up with probably Harry Z returning to the Phantoms. The days of Shelley are numbered. There is no need to play with an enforcer, those days are gone.
Congrats on your first post, especially that you made it here. The whole team was to blame for their slow start, Bob included. It was an uphill battle the entire game especially with defensive breakdowns, bad goaltending, a ton of penalties and no forecheck were all problems in the first period for the Flyers,. However, they never gave up.
There was a time when Nitty was 14-0 when playing Atlanta as a Philadelphia Flyer. However since letting Nitty leave as a free agent the team has only won one game against Atlanta.
When Phoenix Coyotes goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov was asked why didn't want to move to Winnipeg if the Phoenix Coyotes franchise heads to the Manitoban capital, he responded, "Not many people live there, not many Russian people there. Plus it's cold. There's no excitement except the hockey. "There's no park, no entertaining for the families, for the kids. It's going to be tough life for your family."
