  1. Did someone else also noticed that from the second period G did not take any face-offs? Did not find any information about it, but he had some wrist problems during regular season. I hope it is not something serious.

  2. No matter what happens next - this team is special. Even without 3 defenceman and all the rookies they proved themselves.

Lets hope we have more time till next round so Mez and Grossman can completely recover.

    Enjoyed Flyers fans!

Did not see it posted, i think it is interesting reading.

The Philadelphia Flyers and Pittsburgh Penguins renewed hostilities on Sunday Afternoon in a game that ended with a line brawl and 52 minutes in penalties being shared between the two teams from just that incident. The altercation was not contained to the ice as Flyers head coach Peter Laviolette climbed up on the boards to yell at Penguins head coach Dan Bylsma.

Laviolette was also fined for his post-game comments about the incident. Former NHL head coach and player Mike Milbury is no stranger to these types of situations and on Monday, he told a Philadelphia radio station that he wishes the Penguins head coach had been more involved in the fracas.

"I can remember being in such a perch or at least trying to climb over the boards to get at somebody to make a point. I thought that was good," Millbury said on Sports Radio 94WIP. "I thought Dan Bylsma should have taken off his skirt and been over there himself."

One of the factors that touched off the fighting was a cross-check to Penguins forward Sidney Crosby's back by Flyers forward Brayden Schenn that was followed by a hit on Danny Briere by Joe Vitale. Milbury does not believe these types of actions are out of character for Crosby.

"Crosby gets cross-checked, big whoop," said Milbury on Sports Radio 94WIP. "He said after he came back from his 35th concussion, 'I'm not going to do this anymore, I'm not going to get into those scrums, I'm going to stay away from that stuff' but he couldn't help himself because there is a little punk in Crosby.

He's not the perfect gentleman, he's not that little sweet kid you see in all those interviews with his hat pulled down over his eyes. I say screw him, hit him." The Penguins and Flyers will meet one more time in the final game of the season and could be headed towards a first round playoff matchup.

  4. Welcome to Refguins game. No call on Crosby slash on Giroux, no call on Malkin. And they are all real man when there is Flyer on the ice. Last game was Kunitz stepin and rubbing Harnell, now is Malkin givin Giroux two shots in the back of the head, while G schooled him on PK.

  5. Huh?!?

Um, if he were THAT good, we wouldn't be trading him, right?

Will disagree with you. Pronger was good when Duck traded for him, Brad Richards was good when Tampa shipped him. My point is no one is safe. Last year with Richards and Carter is proof. A lot good player was traded in their prime.

  6. I miss JVR, Their line with Schenn and Simmons started to click and i really liked how the played together. In my book that was the second best Flyers line this year.

I will be disappointed to see him traded unless we dont get Corey Perry or Weber in return.

  7. @Vanflyer

Just in my book Flyers and Lindros (as i sad before i really like him as a player and he was the main reason for me to become Flyers fan) don't mix well together. Much more bitter than sweet memories and feelings.

i do not blame Lindros for anything.

But Flyers and Lindros together is bad match.

P.S. Didn't get a chance to see the game vs Leafs, but after reading about their goalie injury (wish him quick recovery BTW) i will keep my fingers crossed all that "bad luck" to stay with Eric others teams

  8. What don't you like? Listen I was on the Clarke side of the Flyers vs Lindros drama when it was going on, but I see this as a nothing but positive.

What bad things happen when he "comes back"? Unless you're referring to his return to play in the 2000 ECF (which is a completely differrent subject), the alumni game was his first official appearance since he was traded....and I don't think anything bad happened that day, he was well received by the crowd and apparently by the organization. Homer has extended the olive branch on behalf of the team, I say good. Life's too short.....

Don't get me wrong - Lindros was the main reason for me to become Flyers fan. But as you mentioned 2000 ECF and the alumni game. Flyers enter the Winter Classic as a #1 team in Eastern Conference, after that is Downward Spiral

I will be happy to eat some crow latter, but i just don't have good feeling.

Otherwise it is really a classy move by the management.

  9. Come on guys, we miss three top 4 defencemen + Kubina, Two top 4 Forwards (add Giroux who may playing hurt) and this was fifth game in 8 days. Still managing to win 5 of last 6 games. This team and effort deserve some respect.
