  1. A couple years ago it was Zooker-Mikko-MiG. They were one of the best lines in the NHL for a long stretch. Pretty sure Zucker had an insanely high +/-. It was the year after Zucker had a bad year dealing with injury. I think he got hurt in the outdoor game against Chi and was never the same for the rest of the season. But he bounced back big the next season, much of it on the line with MiG and Mikko. I have a memory of The Hockey News having a "Best Line in the NHL" list/story and Zucker-Mikko-Granlund were pretty high on the list.
  2. Seeler earned a regular gig last year, it's his to lose. Then didn't throw the money at Pateryn to sit him so there's your 3rd pair Dmen. Bartkowski passed thru waivers. Pretty sure Murphy passed through waivers several times last year, no reason to think he wouldn't again. Prosser was a league Min UFA. Is he even signed to a one way contract for this year? Doubt anyone would take him, either. I expect Murphy to be sent down, you already have two small offensive defenseman on the roster - Spurgie and Dumba. Prosser can be the designated popcorn eater on the roster. If Dumba or Spurgie go down, then bring up Wrong Ryan.
  3. Close to a lock Prosser and Murphy would clear waivers. Bartkowski highly likely would. No way Paterym would IMO.
  4. I highly doubt BB is the least bit afraid of Mikko. He wasn't afraid of Selanne. Without a doubt the organization over-hyped Mikko over the years, claiming him to be something he obviously wasn't - a quality NHL 1st Line Center, an NHL Star - but I'm of the opinion that message board people have concocted an Oliver Stone quality conspiracy theory about Mikko's say in running the team. Put on the tin hat or Mikko will control you!!!! If not Mikko as the regular 2nd Center, than who????
  5. I've always thought it would be fun to go to the Traverse tournament. Bucket list Item. But that would be 3rd on the list after U20 and U18. I really like the U18 because most of the kids are either draft eligible or kids who are projected very high for the following year.
  6. I'd organize a Parade around my yard if the Wild make the second round!
  7. You'd think the Wild would have scouted the Sioux, for puck's sake! Finally a home boy one of us who's going to be a stud goal scorer and the Wild draft ANOTHER non-scoring Euro. Guy Lapointe still has a job? HOW?!?!
  8. Well thank you VERY PUCKING MUCH for raining on my parade!!!
  9. Thanks for posting this information! Excellent news! Hopefully he turns out like a Brent Burns. Burns was a surprise pick to most of us casual fans, and there were lots of fan complaining but he turned out pretty good! Thing was, after the Burn's pick, I read numerous comments about Burns , that he was a stud, a big time climber in the draft. I never heard that from anywhere other than lame Wild organization hypsters about Johansssson. My first impression of the Wild drafting Johanssson was WTF?!?! Then it turned into the classic Wild fan attitude of, "They pucked it up again... Sigh..." I'd love to be proven wrong on Johanssss, though!
  10. IMO there is plenty of evidence EEK and even Greenway will be more impactful players than your laundry list of wannabes. For example - Casey Willman was never a blue chip prospect, he was a long shot. Nothing to be lost by auditioning him. I was sour on O'Sullivan before he even played in the NHL. He played at The Ralph in the WJC when Canada had the All World Team and it was obvious even then there was a good chance he'd fail in the NHL What I'm saying is past history is totally irrelevant when you're talking about current prospects. So they drafted ****** in the past numerous times. That has no effect on current players. There is no link between EEk's, Greenway's or Kunin's actual future performance with your laundry list of old names. Instead of snide complaining (not directly specifically at you ice), I'd rather read insights or opinions. 1. Most people who actually watched the games would agree Greenway had a very solid Playoff performance. My belief is he is going to be an impact player in the NHL. Not a 100 point guy or an All Star, but a solid player who contributes positively to any team. 2. Kunin I'm with the herd. Totally "Meh." Maybe good, maybe total bust. IDK. 3. EEk - I have absolutely no doubt he'll have a relatively long NHL career. How good he gets is unknown. But he's got enough size and skill and smarts to be a solid NHL payer for a long time. We'll know a lot more next year at this time whether he can score in the NHL or not. I think he can. I'm hoping he turns into a Next Gen Mikko. But he might just bounce along like Coyle; just teasing...
  11. Too bad the old Wild message boards threads are gone. I was big time advocating for Boeser in the draft threads.
  12. Excellent! These boards have an easy Ignore feature. I've rarely used it over the years but I'm glad it's there!
  13. What?! I suppose now you're going to claim we shouldn't count Colton Gillies as a big NHL draft success!!! Usually, the number I see is 100 NHL games as the cut off point. Even at league min pay, 100 games gives you a decent chunk of change.
  14. Hi IllaZilla. What was your username on the old official Wild message board? I remember using the term suckhole and had people comment they had never heard that term used before for cherry picker players. I've seen if before in Juniors - some kids have that God given talent and nose for the net. Let's hope Sokolov turns into a Brett Hull clone. The younger Hull was criticized for being a fat, lazy player, too. That's why he was drafted so low, too. Hopefully Sokolov smartens up and shapes up. I'm very high on Greenway. IMO the kid proved last year in the Playoffs he's ready for a full time NHL gig. I love his attitude - he knows he's bigger and stronger than the large majority of players and he's perfectly willing to use that size and strength. I just wish Coyle would get that concept! Mark me down as a "meh" on Kunin, too. All the heart and desire you could ask for, but size, strength, and speed are lacking. I am NOT saying he's a bust, even with the busted knee, but he seems more like a Danny Irmen than a T.J Oshie to me.
  15. Thanks, good to re-connect with you, too. This place does remind me of the old Hockey Boards and Fanhome from way back in the early years.
  16. See you again some time Derek.
  17. Thank you! Very nice of you to say so!
  18. Thank you! Sorry for derailing the thread! I like the 5 post review, excellent idea IMO. Back to the subject. I like www.hockeyfights.com. Not because I'm a big fan of hockey fights, but if you miss a game you can go back and review the fight, they're very good at posting fight videos. Another site I really like and use is www.hockeydb.com. Great coverage of all levels of player's hockey careers. Also great resource for info on hockey cards for guys. Like for Matt Read - I looked him up right away. I collect hockey cards and it tells me what set to search to find his cards.
  19. https://www.theplayerstribune.com/en-us/sports/hockey Edit feature? Posts don't appear until approved? How long does that take? So no real time discussion between posters?
  20. http://www.puckpedia.com is another salary and Cap info site. I used to check www.mynhltraderumors.com but its been locking up on me lately.
