  1. personally I think he's got enough left to be a decent player. certainly not a game changer but a good complimentary piece. if he's will it take a deal that pays him accordingly, then by all means bring him back. I don't think having him on this team at a friendly price will hurt the team at all
  2. Maybe Bryz really wants Jones too and no one else on the team is doing their part to get that high draft pick
  3. I've seen enough for sure. I never really took Foster serious. They needed something and something he is. They knew they wanted to address the size issue and he at least had that. Gervais I do believe was an experiment, maybe hoping a new team would allow him to take a step forward. Again, I don't think they were in love with him but they needed to address the D issue and unfortunately Forster and Gervais was they best they could do. At least we can't fault them for not going after the big names though right?
  4. at least the announcers got it right, that is COMPLETELY awful. 5 Minutes for punching someone's lights out. 10 minutes for hurting their feelings!?!
  5. maybe it's because those names are closer than people realize?
  6. and if the season is lost , please don't bother trying to save it!
  7. I could get behind that. Review every potential high stick. But man, as I type that it gets me thinking of how I feel they need to have an official in a booth high above the ice to give one more perspective AND the ability to review replays quickly and radio down to the official on the ice what really happened quickly so nonsense like fake head throws or plays leaning into plays that normally wouldn't be penalties, as you mentioned, etc. It would slow the game down slightly but at least this garbage of getting calls wrong on a game by game basis would maybe go away.
  8. I couldn't agree more. Kinda like the high sticking extra 2 for blood. High sticking is DANGEROUS! and if the penalty is in place to get guys to keep their sticks down then just make it four min all the time (why do I feel I'm in the minority here with the 4 min?). I know with high sticking it's tough because you have guys lifting sticks, hitting players in the face with either their backswings or follow throughs on shots and let's face it, accidents happen. BUT if the penalty exists for player safety, then the ruling should be made on the act, not the outcome
  9. totally! Zac is a really good example of how to rein it in. He did nothing but run around looking to blow up whatever guy he could and usually skated the line. Now he's doing the same thing but figured out how to make it work for the team. I've been hoping he stays this way and I see no reason of late to think otherwise so I'd agree that he's a good model to follow for Z...
  10. I'm hoping he clears, I thought he showed signs of being a decent 4th line brawler that can actually play a lick.
  11. yeah it is! but you are right... no it isn't
  12. I had just heard during a game's broadcast (can't remember the game) the announcer's talking about the GH hattrick and they even commented on it's funny how it came to be and he hadn't even had that many. Turns out he had two. Here's a little interesting article on the subject I just dug up. It's a quick read. http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=514973
  13. I don't think he's more than a middle weight. I'd cringe watching him go up against Engelland, that dude is fuggin tough! There's really be no point. I know he'd do it if challenged but that would be a one sided deal if you ask me. And I love Rinaldo's passion so it's difficult for me to say it but hey, it is true
  14. absolutely. burn a full year on a 48 game season? And one where the Flyers appear to be building not making a run seems to further enhance that point. He looks great and could easily earn a spot in the lineup but I agree with you, there is almost nothing to gain by burning up a year on his deal for this season so why bother? Give him the 5 game taste and then let him compete for a roster spot next season.
  15. The team could've very well have very well have won these first two games. Easily outplayed the pens for most of the game after they went up 2-1. Couldn't get it done and that's worth noting as well but still. And against Buf they looked good as well with the exception of a costly meltdown that they couldn't recover from. Aside from how they started, before the first puck dropped, I had a split feeling about the season. On one hand, given the fact that there was a lockout, I kind of had a bad taste in my mouth coming in. However, I managed to shut the fact that they weren't even playing out of my mind and focused on other things in the meantime so while there is a bad taste in my mouth, it wasn't so bitter. So looking at the season I kinda felt that if anything, we might be actually seeing a season full of excitement since these games all mean something right away. 0-2 looks really bad now as it wouldn't have in Oct. For me the jury is still out on where this team will be where the dust settles (I need to see more games) but once I get over the lockout, this could actually be the kind of "all season" excitement fans have been looking for due to the shortened season. Now if they don't get into a hole they can't climb out of.
  16. and indeed congrats to both @xganarchy and @B21. Greatest time of your life! My wife and I were blessed with a little boy back in March and it's been one heck of a ride! Great times indeed!
