  1. To look on the half full side, at this stage it appears that all Atlantic Division teams got a bit weaker. Us loosing JVR, Jagr and Carle, Pens loosing Staal, Rangers loosing Prust and Rusty the Devs losing Parise, the Islander whatever.

    Looking at the East as a whole it looks like only the Western teams got better.

    The Canucks now have more competition from the Wild and Oilers for the Northwest, St Louis should take out the Central and LA the Pacific.

  2. I had a guy in the shop that I work in today wearing a Leafs jersey. We got to talking and he was a die hard fan (but a realist) and I found myself saying WE just did a big trade with you guys.

    If you don't say we does that mean you are a fan of other teams as well??

  3. I doubt if we will be getting Parise or Suter this off season and with the loss of JVR, Jagr and Carle do you really think our Phantom Scrubs are going to replace them??

    Did you watch the last game of the finals against N?J? (It took me a few weeks) Lots of kids running around is what i saw.

    Are you willing to have a season like the Phillies in order to have the slim hope of landing Shea Weber??

    If Suter is going o get $8 mil how much would you pay for Weber???

  4. A well thought out post by @Vanflyer

    Jags has one or two years left in the NHL (at the most). He wants to be paid what he thinks he is worth by comparison to others as he must feel that he proved he still has "it" last season.

    The other argument that he said that he want's to play for a "winner", well I am not expecting much from the Flyers next season unless we can replace some scoring as I don't think ZP is coming our way and our defence is looking worse with Carle moving on.

  5. There won’t be a financial bidding war among those teams or any of the NHL’s other 25 clubs because Schultz can’t be offered more than a standard entry-level contract.

    Under the CBA, players between the ages of 18 and 21 must sign entry-level contracts for their first three seasons. The maximum entry-level salary this past season was $925,000 US.

  6. And either I or someone else has to come up with where our cap hit is now at the 70.3 million league ceiling? We might be able to replace 20 or so goals from JVR with a good UFA signing. Who would have thought what Talbot or Jagr would have given us?

    @TJamesAltemose

    The #Flyers now have $11,481,627 in cap space after this trade. That figure becomes $16,403,056 if Pronger's LTIR is maxed out.
