Based on us never developing a dman, when was the last time we drafted and develop one? I do hope I'm wrong but I can't pretend to believe we will develop Morin into a no.1 pairing dman.

7years? drafted in 03 and traded to us in 07, did you know that fact?

@murraycraven@OccamsRazor Yes that is Coburn. He had all the same potential that Morin has, what worries me the most is the Flyers developing these dmans to max their potential. What are the chances of them getting the same thing out of Morin that they are getting from Coburn? I say highly. If Coburn was develped by another team, I can see them maxing out his potential. The Flyers just don't have the personnel to develop dmans or goalies.

I would've claim him if Bryz was still here. We have no use for him now.

He's ok to play in the regular season but come playoff crunch time do you trust putting him out there? If we are up by 1 goal or trailing by 1, he would be sitting on the bench. These types of players are being watch closely by refs now, if a clean hit looks questionable or a soso infraction occurs they will just penalize him. We don't need that come playoff time. I would likely give his spot on the bench in favor of a penalty killer or a faceoff specialist as that guy would be more important then a Rinaldo type player.

From reading all the scouting reports and watching his video, I definitely like him and see a bright future on our blueline. My question is for those who watch these kids play. How is he compared to other dmans that were drafted b4 him in the 2nd round and I read the kid NJ took Santini had a higher upside then Hagg. What is the likely reason he dropped to us?

Definitely reminds me of a guy that is being rumored to be traded.

You don't really need guys like him now in the NHL. Guys like him, Barnaby and Domi does nothing for you in the playoffs except become liabilities for taking bad penalties. The Flyers seriously need to stop drafting these knuckleheads so high. I wouldn't have a problem if they were 7th rd picks.

There was also a report that Montreal made a deal with Vancouver for the 9th pick to take Morin there. When Horvat was still available Vancouver did not want to pass him up. I've calm down since and will wait and see how he pans out, atleast they see their mistakes and are willing to change but who knows how long that will last. I know I was one of theany who complained that we took him too high but he was gonna go as high as 9th, that makes me feel alittle better.

At 6mil a year is his reported asking price. Too much for my liking so a past from me, he is gritty and all but not doesn't have a goal scorer skill that we are seeking to play with G. We have gritty forwards in Hartnell and Simmonds already.

In other words, we wasted a 3rd round pick on a bum yet again. You guys happy???

@murraycraven OK, bad analogy. These quick risers don't usually do well when they get to the pro level in their respective sport.

@flyercanuck I would love to be satisfy with the Flyers pick here but I don't like the quick risers at all. Reminds me of Mike Mamula, rather have a safer pick. I know you have to take a chance but the Flyers actually developing a defenseman to max his potential? I have no confidence at all.

I agree with you we can't have 6 puck moving defenseman but do we have any in our pipeline? We need to draft offense skill guys, these defensive defenseman are easier to get in the FA market. Tired of them drafting these types of guys with huge potential. Rememer Coburn? Look where he is now. Kevin Marshall and MA Bourdon also. I do hope we are wrong on Morin but history of the Flyers developing these guys are not on our side let alone patience to wait for them to develop. We all are tired of watching them sign over the hill puck moving defenseman here or wouldn't want them to overpay for one in a trade.

Homer needs one to his noggins. By the time Morin makes it to the Flyers we probably stinks anyways and will trade him to rebuild or should I say retool yet again.

They are matching up how the Flyers draft defenseman. Flyers can't develop any so Morin fits them perfectly, a project that has little chance of developing into a all star.

Homer should counter Coburn, Read and 11th for 6th and 22 or 28. Prefer 22 more to target Furcale there.

Can I pick my nose first then decide? I don't follow junior hockey to know anything about these guys so I will just read what you guys pick and trust your judgement even if Homer doesn't listen to you guys.
