Miller Time

The Sabres are grabbing alot of headlines today. All over. And deservedly so. I know Miller would love nothing more than to knock Boston out himself. But its very uncertain right now. I think it comes down to how Ottawa finishes? We do not play them. So If they can keep winning and stay ahead of us, then its probably the Rangers. I have no fear of the Rangers and I know the Sabres do not either.

I agree as far as Pittsburgh. But not the Rangers. I do not think the Rangers are as good as their record and they have struggled of late. The 4-1 *** whipping we put on them a good example. All three have top notch goalies as do we. So I just do not know. One thing is certain, we cannot get Philly or New Jersey by the looks of things? Whoever gets Florida can book their tickets for round two. If they hang on which seems pretty likely. But their last game is vs Wash. I am hoping we get some help from Boston and Philly.

i say something in a metaphorical sense and get chastised for it. Give me a break. You are in 'Sabres territory bud and don't forget it. We obviously cannot take our foot off the gas pedal and we seem invincible right now. Doubt there aree many teams that want to face Miller right now. Ottawa is at Philly Sat. Their schedule is tougher than ours on paper because we have Toronto twice. How can one consider Toronto a real threat. Boston is mathematically in reach but we need cheer for them tomorrow when they host Ovetchkin and his ruskies. Washington is not a very good hockey team. We exposed them last night for what they are. They are lucky Erhoff was injured or it could have been uglier. So any Sabre fans that read this, do we want 7 or 8? Do we want Rangers or Pittsburgh? We have done well against both. I think I prefer the Rangers as they have no Crosby or Malkin. They have trouble scoring and if Miller shuts them down it could be a fast series. We are definitely in their heads now.

Anytime Lindy puts a guy in the press box he gets results. Mike Weber has played his worst hockey and hs played well. He is far more physical than Leopold and can hit Ovetchkin and not get unerved by it. In this situation I prefer Weber but I doubt Lindy will see it that way. I do not know how he will mix the lines. To the guy that said Leino does not have the numbers to support doing well, he has played very smart situational hockey and kept us out of trouble when on the ice. His numbers do not tell the whole story. I would have Ennis out there with Staff often. Use Hodgson often too. Pommer, Roy and Vanek I would leave on one line as they know each other so well. They were together in all the conference final games and have fought many a war together. Maybe Brad Boyes comes alive tonight? Mike Foligno is aa must use. Him and Tropp have been such pleasant surprises. GO SABRES. LETS GET THIS ONE BABY

He is back to himself No the injured player after the Lucic hit. Four shutouts in last three weeks. He is playing out of his mind. He stopped 144 of 147 shots in California with two shutouts.

I did not say he is the best ever. In fact I am on record Parent is the best ever. Yes, Parent. And I could have said Hasek. I say when its all over Miller will be better than Hasek and go to heights Hasek never did as a Sabre. St Louis in my opinion would have been good even if fat *** Hitchcock did not take over. The general thinking my most of the so called experts is that nobody can beat Pittsburgh in a 7 game series. I am not convinced. Look at the meltdown in Ottawa and I was at the game when the Sabres hammered them 6-2. But I guess to get out of the East no matter who you are you are going to have to beat Pittsburgh. I am not sold on the Rangers and think they have played over their heads. I do think the Flyers are better than the Rangers. I also believe my team has as good a shot as anyone. Boston of course cant be counted out. I think the winner of the South is gone in round one. Especially if its Florida. So my list of eastern contenders is Pittsburgh, Philly, New Jersy, Boston, Rangers and Buffalo. I do not believe Florida, Ottawa or Washington are good enough because they lack the goaltending. You cannot win without good goaltending

That was a 7 game series that went to the end. So this Sabres team can beat anyone. I say it and i mean it. They are getting better and better and the tandem of Myers, Erhoff, Regehr and Sekera is better than any four they can muster. And we know Miller is better than their goalie. Joke

This Sabres team is better and next years will be even better. Your Flyers were on the ropes. Down 3-2 in games and you guys were eating your couches. You got lucky we had a stupid kid named Butler that Lindy should not had on the ice six minutes from eliminating you and saving you the embarresment of being undressed by Boston God. We never would have let Boston beat us like that.

We have far better goaltending than these pretenders. And far more balance as a unit expecially on defense. They have no tandem that can match Myers and Erhoff. We should beat them as long as we do not let Ovetchkin take over. Perhaps Lindy should dress Kaleta for the one task of going after Ovetchkin? But I guess if it aint broke dont fix it applies. We have guys that can hit him.

I will take him over a guy like Keenan any day. Lindy knows how to manage a game and how to reprimand his players without them hating him

Now we are in 8th and soon 7th. And the Sabres had over 200 game man injuries. Far better team than you know. But you will see. Wait until you get to meet Foligno. As for you VanFlyer, I saw the Blues coming before anyone. My posts back in Sept I said they would be a finalist in the West. Give me a little credit for knowing the game. Leino will never be Howe. But Miller is oneof the best ever. I agree losing Ennis was huge. He has speed that kills

So who do you want to draw? There are no easy opponents. Not for anyone. The one team I would want if I got in would be th eCaps because of their pathetic goaltending and poor coaching.

Man this kid Foligno is a sight for sore eyes. What start to his NHL career. And This team is just playing lights out rock solid defense. But as we all know, every night in the NHL can be a battle. Teams that are out of it are no fun to play against because they are loosy goosy. Willing to gamble and nothing to lose. Tonight's enemy becomes tomorrow's friend. Go Wild. I am shocked Ottawa can get whacked so bad by the Habs and then beat Pittsburgh 8-4.. Crazy game

You guys do not need Pronger any more. He is not what he once was and is probably retiring. You are better off without him out there costing you minor penalties. So bad example. Gireax you can make a case for. I will give you that one. But how much time did he miss? We had several of our chore players out for over 200 man games. And Miller included.

Anyone that thinks there is a guy out there that could do a better job with the Buffalo Sabres you just tell me? I would not trade Lindy for ANYONE. AND THAT INCLUDES RON WILSON. He has held his own when many others would have folded. Like Ron Wilson. True, the Sabres have more talent, but no team had more man injuries and key ones at that. Losing Miller and Myers and Erhoff for a long stretch was just too much to overcome while trying to get new guys like Leino fit into a system. Oh, speaking of Ville, he is playing some great hockey. Has found chemistry and is a team guy.

Whether we take care of Washington or not we can still pass Ottawa. Only 4 pts back. Sabres are 15-2-3 in last twenty. We need to jump on the Rangers and let Miller stone them.

Do not forget the last meeting was actually a 0-0 and we lost shootout. We are a better team now. And Hodson has now contributed. Like our chances big time. Go SABRES
