Yeah that is a pretty crappy trade for Buffalo. Not discounting Getzlaf, but Myers is a hard player to replace. Where did you see those rumors at? I am going to start a better rumor. My friend, who is practically an Ecklund E2, heard while cleaning the windows at the Wells Fargo Center that the Flyers were interested in Myers. The rumor is: Matt Carle, Jody Shelley and a 2nd for Myers. More to come.... :wacko:

Kulemin from what I have seen seems to fit Lavy's system. I could see that happening. He's a big body that plays with an edge. I wouldn't make him a household name in Philly, but it would soften the JvR trade should it go down.

@brelic This is true about having to negotiate from a position of weakness. Homer would absolutely overpay either Weber or Suter. In fact, if we get either I would expect it would be in the off season. JvR for Schenn straight up seems a little lopsided to me. Kadri and Schenn for JvR, 2nd (PHL not LA's) Schenn and Jerry D'Amigo for JvR and a 4th

@flyerrod in the end I think it is going to be like a Tim Thomas situation. Rask played lights out and then came back to earth. I suspect that Bob will get the nod this season, but Bryz will be the starter next season. It will be too hard to move Bryzgalov without giving up too much. I would imagine we would have to package Couturier and a 1st to get Bryzgalov out of here. And we would have to take some serious salary back too. All we can hope for is that Bryzgalov uses this summer to think long and hard about wanting to commit 110% on the ice and we see the goalie that we've been hoping for all these years. However, if a logical trade comes up, then I say c'ya don't let the door hit you in the ass Ilya. I am hoping that Burke is dumb enough to have interest in Bryzgalov and Ilya will waive his NTC. After 41 games I really don't think that will happen though.

@brelic I noticed his ice time was down too. And from what I saw of him, he looked ok. Had some good passing, puck movement, a set-up or two. I honestly think that if he is moved, it will be before the All Star break. I agree with 90% of the board when I say if he is moved it should be for a little more than Schenn.

He could have just put the elbow in the chest of Talbot. I wouldn't go as far to say intentional, but that hit should be looked at by the league.

@Vanflyer I too am concerned with who will fill the void on LW if JvR is moved. JvR also looks much better with Schenn and Simmonds as linemates. I would imagine Read will have to fill the void, but I am worried that he does not fit the make up of that line. Perhaps Talbot could be plugged into that line. I could see lines like this should it go down: Hartnell-Giroux-Jagr Read-Briere-Voracek Talbot-Schenn-Simmonds Harry Z- Couturier- Rinaldo Timmo-Coburn Carle-Bourdon Mezzaros-Schenn I do see the gaping problem on the left wing especially the lack of naturally positioned LW'ers. To me Schenn is a big gamble at his age, but could really pan out. I do recall the hype that surrounded the guy over the summer. It was like the city of Toronto had him planning the parade route. Now if we could get Toronto to bite and Bryzgalov to waive his NTC, we could convince him to go to Toronto. Tell him that he'll be the most expensive back up in the league if he doesn't go. @BobDailey That would be really sad if he did. Is it me or does this sort of thing seem to be getting worse over the years? I've been to FedEx Field and the Meadowlands donning my Eagles Jersey and caught my fair share of heckling, but never did it come close to fighting. I am willing to go as far to say that the guy that turned himself in didn't even attend the WC and got hammered at his residence then later went out to tourist spots looking for trouble. In any case, this man (and I use that term loosely) and his pals are violent animals that represent exactly what is wrong with this county. I am not saying they should have a group hug after the game, but beating up a guy that bad over a game that none of them participated in??? Sorry for the rant....

That is great! I was talking with my boss about it yesterday. He has been out of town for the last few weeks and he didn't hear about it. This is good and bad. Good that the entire US doesn't know that this happened, bad thing is that the entire US doesn't know this happened. @brelic This is very true. However, even at the time it was a little steep. I also didn't get why we had KV and Leino on the same team. In Lavy's system they are one in the same [to me that is]. In any case, I really hope Holmgren holds his picks this year due to the depth of the draft.
