Very similar to Neal's hit on Couturier yet the difference was Hossa left on a stretcher while Couts wasn't injured; Neal wasn't punished for that hit, so we'll see if Shanahan is consistent with his decisions.

Oh, happy day!  I like the Rangers just a little bit more (which is to say that I still hate them with a passion) after this move.  Let's hope he stays gone; there's no place in this game for a classless scum-bag like him.

I wanted Hartnell gone in the worst way during the first few weeks of this season; I'm glad I was wrong and will gladly accept my heaping helping of crow. What a treat it's been to watch his play during the past few weeks!

Bob earned the next start with some of the saves he made in the 2nd period last night. Unfortunately I think most of you fine folks are correct in saying that Lavi has to go with Bryz tomorrow. I hope we're all wrong as I think Bob's the better choice right now.

Flyers - Oilers, game 6, 1987 -- mere words cannot adequately describe the feeling in that building when Daigneault scored "the goal". I thought for sure that the building was going to literally collapse. I've never heard noise quite like that in all my years of attending games, concerts, etc., and I don't suppose that I ever will again!

But I watched the OT goal on TSN and can't tell who was back on that play and did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. I mean, he just backed himself up to the side of the net and let the Tampa player just waltz in there and wait for the pass/rebound almost completely unchecked. That was pathetic. Anyone know who that was?

Rux -- it was Mezaros. He is not off to a great start this year; I was expecting more from him.

btw - am I the only one who thought Briere definitely stopped? They should've waved off that goal. If Parise had done that I'd be screaming bloody murder... Turns out it didn't matter a bit since Bob still sucks in the SO - 1-5 now - but imho Briere's was not a good goal.

I thought the same thing and was very surprised when the goal was not disallowed.
