I like Raffl's game. Strong on his skates. Strong, powerful strides, almost like Kovalchuk. Likes to be physical. Seems skilled. Hope it comes through with some confidence. He might be one to watch.
With the team admitting that Pronger will never play again, doesn't this have a major salary cap recourse? This could be a cap disaster, unless the plan is to sell everything and start over.
Not disappointed only because I didn't expect them to win. They were overwhelmed in there own zone many times. The goals they did score were fluky. They generate little offense even strength. The top line is pathetic. And all this is against Florida....Florida! The next 10-12 games against quality opponents could already be the end of the season if they don't come around. Mason had great game though. He's the reason they won.
You all make very valid points. The problem is that if regime change is what you want, it won't be happening anytime soon with Hexy in line to take the reigns. But then again, he did learn under from a cup winner. Should be interesting.
I don't get it. I'd take an Ed Snider type of owner any day. He's committed to success, his thinking, has a REAL passion to win, is willing to make or go along with the hard decisions and willing to throw the bank at it to make it happen. What more do you want from an owner? Those guys called "the players" have a little something to do with whether a season will be a success.
If things start off bad, I think it would be Homer who goes first. That would put the whole team on alert that with a new GM coming in, anyone is trade bait. Stressing the word ANYONE.
