  1. Flyers must have read my post. Only allowed the Canadiens 1 shot in the 3rd period. They knew that a 2nd shot might have put them in a 2 score hole or lost them the lead...
  2. Bryz is the absolute worst goalie. I'm sorry, this guy is pure trash. I don't want to see any more "Bryz is not the worst part of this team" threads. This guy is just a back breaker. When it was 1-1 and the Canadiens finally got their first shot in 44+ minutes, all I could think of is that the Flyers need to go up at least 3-1. AT LEAST!!! Cause I knew that although that was their first shot all period, that ANY shot they took could lead to a goal. And that at some point Bryz WOULD give up another goal, so we needed at least 3 to win. It was only a matter a time. So we go up 2-1, and again I could only think "we need to score another!!!" I held this thought for a whopping 45 seconds. Granted that 2nd goal was not Bryz' fault. But can this guy make a big save ever?! He has no lateral quickness. Just once, have some damn INSTINCT and FLASH your leg, glove, stick, WHATEVER out!! He looked so freaking slow! And third goal... I don't even know what to say. It wasn't even a late deflection. Even dropping ridiculously early into the butterfly, he still had time to stop that shot. Instead he is on the ground flailing like a moron. 2 goals on 4 shots that period. The guy has the worst save percentage I've ever seen. Every shot you have to hold your breath, and almost every scoring chance is a likely goal. Then Price on the other end makes two big saves at the end of the period, both equally tough or harder than the second goal to stop. Heaven forbid we have a goalie who can bail out the other guys if they're not perfect... Every mistake is a possible goal with Bryz. Meanwhile we can outplay a team for almost an entire period and have a lot more shots and pressure and come away with nothing. But keep blaming the other guys. I'm sure they are playing with their sphincters in a knot, cause they know that if they are not perfect they have no safety net behind them.
  3. Bettman will probably outlaw fighting within the next few years. All issues will be settled by having the two (or more) players meet at center ice and discuss their grievances over tea and danishes...
  4. This is the first time all season I've really felt this emotional. I'm shaking like it's the playoffs. That was such an amazing comeback after the refs (and the league) F'ed us over. Never gave up. Great win.
  5. While I don 't think it was intentional or overly "dirty", I don't see where people are saying the Islander purposely turned away from the hit. He never changed direction really. Second, wasn't it nice to see the other Islanders stand up for Bailey? The complete opposite of what the Flyers did for Giroux two games ago...
  6. The Flyers this year are borderline unwatchable. They have the worst 5-on-5 offense I've seen in a long time. They only seem to score on the PP. They almost look like they are TRYING not to score. That third period was abysmal outside of the last minute on the PP. How do they expect to score when all they do is pass the puck back and forth in front of Bryz when they are tied or have the lead?
  7. I swear if you took half of Bryzgalov and half of Nabakov and put them together, you'd still only have half a goalie...
  8. I've never seen anything like that. Penalty or no penalty... your teammates have to start shoving! They just skated away like a bunch of pusses.
  9. Yup. Two major lines, one going East-West, the other going North-South. The Broad Street Line which is what's used to get to the stadium goes North-South. I just saw that you're from Maryland though, and since the stadium stop is the southern most stop, then you might as well park at the stadium. In your case if you're planning on hanging around after the game then traffic won't be an issue. If you don't need to be anywhere then the parking lot jams won't be an issue.
  10. Then you got Giroux getting his face smashed into the glass. I'm less upset that there was no call than I am the fact that the rest of the Flyers didn't even step up to defend their captain... this team is a MESS!!!!
  11. Parking is a ripoff as usual. At least $10 (probably more like 15-20). If you're only bringing one car, then it may be worth it split amongst a few people. You're better off parking along the subway line and taking that in. It's like $3 round trip and you save a TON of time getting out at the end. You can get stuck in the lot for 30+ minutes if you're not quick about exiting. If you park at the lot, park near an exit and walk through the lot, cause the closer to the stadium you park the harder it is to get out.
  12. They are so fundamentally flawed it's disturbing. If I could summarize this team in one word it would be: INEFFICIENT. Only team that seems to require 7 passes to start a "break" or as most teams call it, "getting out of their zone". Between the sloppy passing and turnovers (most that are unforced) they have to do everything twice over just to accomplish anything. People always talk about the key to beating the Flyers is to pressure them into mistakes, but the thing is they make enough mistakes on their own... More on inefficiency, why do they pass so damn much in the offensive zone? Why do they always seem to turn with the puck in the wrong direction? They seem to have ZERO vision, outside of 2-3 of them. The problem with their passing is that they continue to try to make that pass that fails 99% of the time instead of attempting the smart pass or just taking the open shot. I'm always yelling for the Flyers to shoot more and stop passing so much. But In OT just now with the Devils, there was a play where (I believe it was Read) was carrying the puck up down the right side one-on-one with a Devil, with a Flyer trailing. Instead of making an easy drop pass to the trailing Flyer, the puck carrier just throws the puck right into the Devils defender... WHY?! So frustrating. At least we got the extra point, but man did it look like the Flyers packed it in after regulation... And I rarely say this, but Bryz probably had his best game all year. There were a handful of chances that I was sure the Devils were going to score on and he kept them in it.
  13. All I know is that Hartnell's slapshot is a goal against Bryz 90% of the time...
  14. So you're OK with paying Bryz a s**t-ton of money to be average? You think that tomorrow he's going to wake up and remember how to poke check and stop one-on -one shots? It has nothing to do with "Philly doesn't give a **** about goaltending" and everything to do with the fact that I have eyes and can SEE that what we have isn't winning anything. Not this year, not next year, and not any year that we have him under contract (for millions and millions and MILLIONS of dollars!) Wouldn't it be wiser to look for a cheaper option who can also probably be jsut as productive? And use that money to improve other parts of our team. Maybe boost our "awful" defense. People want to say that the Rangers defense is great and ours is horrible. But our horrible defense only allowed 20 shots. We got 25 shots and we had as many if not more good chances to score. Biggest difference is that Lundqvist wears big boy pants and Bryz is still crapping his underoos. And how do you think that affects the team? You got guys throwing everything at Lundqvist at the end and he's stoning them left and right. Then the Rangers get one decent chance and light the lamp. So sick of it...
  15. It is NOT an overreaction. He is AVERAGE AT BEST!!! He let's in WAY too many soft goals. For every nice save he has, he has an equally bad goal he allows. 20th in the league in GAA. 24th in save percentage. (both dropping tonight) Can't make a one-on-one save to save his life (pun intended). Again, forget Leighton/Boucher... bring in some fresh blood. Cheap blood. So what if they "suck". Bryz sucks! And he gets paid millions to do so. Switch the goalies tonight and Flyers win this game 5-1, easily. Stop accepting mediocrity and start accepting the fact that Bryz needs to be out, yesterday...
  16. Did you just watch Lundqvist at the end of the game?! He made more tough saves in two minutes than Bryz has made all season...
  17. We know what we have at this point, and it's not that much... The guy is as average as they come (and actually probably more below average) The guy just gives up the softest goals. Every scoring chance is a goal. The Flyers offense has to work their a**es off to get scoring chances and if they're lucky they will get a goal every once in a while. One-on-one the other goalies come up with big saves. Then the opposition comes down the ice and throws the puck at Bryz and there it goes in the back of the net. I've never seen a goalie who gets beat one-on-one SO MANY FREAKING TIMES!!! In order to score the Flyers need to set up triple screens with three deflections and then bang in the second rebound to score. But Bryz is a guaranteed 1 bad goal a game, and every other one-on-one chance is a goal. He has NO CLUE how to poke check. Opposing players skate down the side, cut across the net and Bryz is fanning at everything. Watch Lundqvist just poke the puck behind the net. It's not that difficult Bryz.... What is the point of even playing him. Bring up anyone (besides Leighton/Boucher!!!) I mean they CAN'T be any worse and there's no way we couldn't find any goalie for much less to at least give us the same "quality" goaltending.
  18. The Flyers were given 7 minutes of PP in the last 10 minutes of the game (2 of which was on a 5-on-3) and preceded to do nothing with it. Is there a new rule in the NHL where one time shots from the right slot are illegal?! I was just waiting for Ottawa to steal a point back by scoring some crappy goal in the last minute after we let all that PP time slip away by trying to do to much instead of putting the puck on the net.
  19. The combination of a goalie that can make great saves occasionally while also giving up mediocre goals with our inability to string together 3 decent passes on offense, make this a very average team.
  20. Just look at the difference in passing between the two teams. The Flyers look one step above Mites on Ice with some of the stuff they do... So many poor passes, it's disturbing. No touch or vision outside of a few of them.
  21. See, there's a goal that Bozack had no chance on. These are the goals we seem to have to score, or the crash the net and whack away at rebounds until it pops in. Other teams seem to be able to score every 4-5 times they just throw the puck at our net...
  22. After a game I like to think, "what would the final score have been if we had switched goalies?" And it seems more often than not the Flyers would be winning a lot of games, often by several goals...
  23. If they get rid of Lavy, Bryz better be going with him... Strap him on top of his car like a Christmas tree...
  24. Again looking at the standings and after today's Jets game we will have played 20 games. Boston has only played 14 and don't play today. How is that possible!?!?! I know they missed a game due to the blizzard, but still that's only 15 games. How can there be so much discrepancy in such a shortened season almost halfway through it? Like I said originally, this means they will have a ton of games packed into the last few weeks, but at that point all the rest and practice they were able to get early on could give them a cushion to not have to need those later games. I mean the Flyers don't appear to be cup contenders, but you're asking a bunch of guys to play 20 games in about 40 games after having virtually no preseason and barely any practice time during it. Meanwhile the other teams that have only played 14-15 games are getting rest and practice. Seems ridiculous to me. I'd much rather have to play a lot towards the end after working things out during the beginning of the season, than have to earn everything up front and then have a ton of rest when we could possibly be out of playoff contention. Also, as people have seen over the last few years in practically every major sport, it's the teams that are hot at the end, playing all the time and getting momentum that go on to win the championships. I'd rather have the flyers play a lot at the end with that threat of elimination as if they were already in the playoffs. IT builds toughness and competitiveness that you need to win the playoffs. Only hope is that the Flyers get healthy and sneak into the playoffs in the 6-8 seed and then actually use that later rest to play harder than the worn down teams (assuming again that they won't have the luxury of resting up the last week, especially since they will be facing a top seeded team). Or we can hope to face the PEnguins who seem to be the only team we show up against more often than not. Although, we'll somehow get stuck against the Devils who will likely hold us to like 1.25 goals per game in a playoff series...
  25. What a crazy concept!!! Who woulda thunkit? You watch the first 10 minutes of the Jets game and they are being out shot 11-1, and you'd think the Jets were completely out playing the Flyers. But if you look closer, you'd see the Flyers continue to pass up shot opportunities in order to try and make the PERFECT pass. Only problem is that the Flyers over the past 2 decades have probably been the WORST passing team in the league. They stink at passing yet that's all they try to do. These guys have absolutely no touch on their passes. They are like a bunch of McNabb's on skates. They blast the puck to a teammate who is 5 feet away, and try soft touch passes to teammates across the ice with two defenders between them... Then after the Simmonds pass they decide to start throwing the puck on net and actually making the opposing goalie work and surprisingly they look 100x better. And then Schenn scores on a "garbage" goal. A puck thrown on net when the chance arose. The goalie can't handle it initially and then Briere keeps poking and then Schenn slams it into the back of the net after it squeezes through. K.I.S.S.!!!!!!!!!
