Ferriero also appeared in 20 games last year with Worcester, the Sharks' American Hockey League affiliate, amassing nine goals and 20 points.A native of Boston, Ferriero played in 92 career NHL regular-season games with San Jose, totaling 14 goals and 22 points. Ferriero also played in eight Stanley Cup Playoff games, with his lone point the overtime goal in Game 1 of the 2011 Western Conference Semifinals against the Detroit Red Wings.Selected by the Phoenix Coyotes in the seventh round (No. 196) of the 2006 NHL Draft, Ferriero has appeared in 121 career regular-season AHL contests, notching 44 goals and 103 points. He has added five goals and seven points in 19 postseason games.Ferriero spent four years playing for Boston College of the Hockey East between 2005-09. Ferriero, who was a member of the Eagles’ 2008 NCAA national championship team, totaled 64 goals and 139 points in 165 career games. He made back-to-back Hockey East All-Tournament Teams in '06-07 and '07-08.Ferriero has represented the United States several times internationally, including at the 2005 World Under-18 Championship, where he led the Americans to a gold medal. Ferriero's younger brother, Cody, was chosen by San Jose in the fifth round (No. 127) of the 2010 NHL Draft. Quote
yave1964 Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 The man can shoot, not much of a passer and a bit of a one way player, but seriously, right team, right situation he could easily score 20 plus. Sharks have done a poor job of judging talent lately, if your not the next Marleau or Thornton they concentrate too much on what you cannot do and dont look at your plusses, look at what Jamie Mcginn did with the Avalanche after he got free of the San Jose to Worchester shuffle. Ferrierro could follow his lead. Quote
