flyercanuck
For the first time ever a player given exceptional status by the CHL didn't go 1st overall in the draft. Sean Day, who was born in Belgium to Canadian parents, moved to Singapore, then grew up in the US fell to Mississauga Steelheads as the 4th overall pick. I honestly didn't think he'd go first, but FOURTH? At 15 he's likely the best skater in the draft. At 6'3" he has the size you want. Concerns are his effort just isn't there. Time will tell whether Ottawa, Erie or Peterborough made a huge mistake letting a highly skilled 15 year old slip through their grasp. jammer2
@flyercanuck That's where the Spits *would* have been picking had they not cheated!! A HUGE price to pay!! I guess Strome's little brother went 2nd, he's supposed to be wicked good! Edited April 7, 2013 by jammer2
flyercanuck
As I mentioned earlier I didn't think he'd go first. And i could see taking Strome 2nd. But I thought for sure he'd go to the Petes. I was going to mention Windsors lack of a 1st, but figured that would be salt in the wound.
