King Knut
I'm reading that the team has to carry him on the Flyers Roster because you can't demote an injured player.I don't understand how that works if the player was inured playing in the minors. He got hurt in the A. He's an AHL player. How's keeping him on that roster a demotion?
doom88
The top X contracts count against the cap in full, during the summer. No LTIR, no stashing money.

How's keeping him on that roster a demotion? All NHL contracts (1- and 2-way) are "on the roster" (and cap in some form or another) during the offseason.Flyers need to waive guys off that roster to assign to the AHL.Upshot: Wellwood is a "Flyer" now and has to remain a "Flyer" until he is well enough to play.
