flyercanuck
In his second season with the Barrie Colts Brendan Lemieuxs game has grown in leaps and bounds. He's already surpassed his point totals from last season and has become a key player for the Barrie Colts. His "in your face" 2 way game is similiar to his fathers, Claude. And last night he showed he's not just another ugly face with a hattrick against division rival Sudbury Wolves in a 7-2 win.. After a poor start to the season the Colts have been on a bit of a roll, winning 5 in a row. Last nights win catapulted them into 2nd place over the Wolves who had beaten Barrie in their 2 previous meetings .http://www.hockeysfuture.com/articles/99729/colts-lemiuex-has-access-to-plenty-of-nhl-wisdom/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=colts-lemiuex-has-access-to-plenty-of-nhl-wisdom
jammer2
@flyercanuck Well, Ryan Verbeek is not Pat's son, it's his uncle, but he's not doing nearly as well. He's been hurt a lot this year, and has struggled to get on the ice at other times. His draft year is coming up, and unless something breaks soon, he will be one of those free agent invitees, if that. Spits have won 8 of 9 though, the whole team and goaltending have been much better of late.
flyercanuck
@jammer2 Fotinos has really come around since the trade. He was pretty disappointing in Barrie but has been playing well for you guys. The good thing is it gave Blackwood a chance to step in and take the reins for the Colts, and he's been great. Right now he's sitting 3rd in the entire league in both GAA and save percentage. Not bad for a rookie. Went to the game last night and sat through a 2-2 snorefest for the first 2 periods. Both teams were just sleepwalking. Then Barrie woke up and put 6 in in the 3rd. My how far Niagara has fallen since the days of Strome, Ritchie and the Hamiltons. jammer2
@flyercanuck Yeah, talk about a trade that worked out well for both teams, that was it. It is amazing to see how Niagara has just fell off the map with 2-3 graduations...such is life in the O, huh?
