TedZep Posted April 2, 2014 Share Posted April 2, 2014 The Blues got away with a lot of hooks, crosschecks and holds in the first period that had the Flyers looking at the referees sideways, particularly Massenhoven who "explained" to Hartnell why icing was called when Hartnell had clearly gained the dot first, "Hey, I'm just spectating these last two games. Play on!" The lack of whistles did lead to a fast paced, exciting game, and the Flyers did nothing with the few PP opportunities they did get, so c'est la vie. Once again, damn the shoot out. I once yelled at him, "get you head out of your Massenhoven"!!!.....when the arena was really quite. Had my whole section roaring!! He turned out to be a decent ref, thought he would be.
