ScottM
http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/ottawa-senators-retire-daniel-alfredssons-no-11/ I'm a few days late on this since I've been pretty wrapped up for the last few days, but last week there was an announcement in Ottawa that the Senators will be retiring Daniel Alfredsson's #11 jersey. It will be the first jersey retired by the current franchise, and there couldn't be a more appropriate place to start. Alfie was an absolute steal as a sixth round draft pick, and proved to be an excellent choice as captain after the Alexei Yashin debacle. He of course led the Sens to the Stanley Cup Finals in 2007, and will forever hold a place in the hearts of Sens fans. I for one, cannot wait to see this. Congrats, Alfie! This is well-deserved. AJgoal
Well deserved. I always liked Alfredsson, and for the Sens to retire his number is absolutely the right call.
