In the AHL the Marlies were very good 5 or so years ago.

After the Norfolk Admirals ran through the league beating everyone's asses it was the Marlies turn for a few seasons.

Watched them whoop my Hershey Bears a couple of times. The future seemed bright for Toronto, the NHL team had just drafted Matthews and Marner and the AHL team was stacked.

Funny story about the Marlies…I was part of the off-ice officials crew here in San Antonio when we had an AHL team.  My job was the visitors penalty box attendant. The Marlies came to town and several of them took penalties.  There was a winter storm somewhere north of here overnight and it messed up the Marlies travel the next day. I was also traveling the next day and half of the Marlies team ended up on my flight.  A trainer and an assistant coach were sitting in my row on the flight. I mentioned to them that some of the Marlies players came to my penalty box the night before. John-Michael Lyles was sitting in the row in front of us and raised his hand. 😂

Well, an NHL ready prospect, and this might be important..."developed by a different team" pushes current detritus on the roster down a line or back the AHL.

A second first round pick in 2023 will most likely be a good player too, so that will be a top 5 draft pick, 2 mid to late round draft picks, a good prospect. That's 4 potentially high-end dudes in the system in under 2 years.

This includes resigning Giroux, who is still pretty good at hockey.

In a few years if handled correctly, this season of sucking could be viewed as a franchise turning point.

It is not out of the realm of possibilities.

So, summarized…The Flyers are two years away from being two years away?!?😂

    HHHHHHhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm......

...Kucherov plan in affect i knew other teams would be following suit soon.

Yep.  Vegas is doing it with Mark Stone on LTIR so the could get Eichel into the lineup.  I think we’ll see a lot more of this kind of stuff until the NHL puts a stop to it.

Flashback:  Remember about 6 or 7 years ago when the big rumor was Landeskog was being traded to the Flyers?  [sarcasm] I sure am glad the Flyers never picked up a player like Landeskog! [/sarcasm]

I watched this a couple times and the biggest issue I see is Patrick’s feet tangleing with Mccinnon’s causing him to land on the back of his head.
    Hardly suspentional to me.
A little late for the hit but nothing terrible.
Players getting beat up worse now is part of the removal of clutch and grab. Players are hitting at full speed now.

A little late???  Patrick passed the puck to a teammate who caught it on his forehand and backhanded it into the corner before the hit happened.  The hit was incredibly late!

The shoulder to the jaw was the biggest issue.  Patrick's head snapped and his stick went flying.  Their legs didn't come together until Patrick started falling backwards.

Is hoping Brind 'Amour gets fired so the Flyers could hire him wrong??

I mean if help going to keep this nepotism going he's my guy. Tocchet is #2.

I mean look at the roster turnover he has had since just 2019-20. An yet they stay on top.

I want what they doing so close to me. I hate it...

...it's bittersweet i want success so hockey grows but damn.....never did i think the Canes and Lightning would ever win a Cup before my Flyers but here we are.

So yes i want Rod to come back to Philly and take them to a Cup it is the only way to close that story in my mind.

I hated watching him get traded....

You're never going to see that.  When the time comes to change the coach, Rod will get promoted and stay with the Canes for the rest of his life.
