Yes, that seems to be the reasoning. Evason still will get the goalie questions though....you know that as well as I. Wild just back two goals! Still behind, but the Wild are showing a serious set of b@#%$! Cmon Fleury....don't give up anymore, dammit...your team is scratching and clawing their way back!

Panthers get it done. Post game analyst crew getting on Boston's case for not managing the game properly. PK Subban, however, saying some stupid things (shocking, right?).... Saying Boston might have 'let up' because Florida isn't as talented as the Bruins, and that Boston shouldn't have taken them lightly. First off, who the $%#@ would say "Florida isn't as talented".... Panthers have PLENTY of talent in their lineup. They may not have had the 'dream season' the Bruins just had, and they may have some questions as to how they defend at times, but to say they aren't as talented is just plain stupid. Bruins are NOT head n shoulders 'more talented' than anyone...they just happen to have played the best TEAM GAME all season. And if the Panthers somehow manage to boot them in the first round, we will be reminded, once again, that the regular season is NOT the almighty dictator for the postseason. Instead of saying "Bruins took them lightly", or "the Bruins didn't manage the game properly", how about, "The Panthers showed up...showed up with pride, and just plain beat Boston tonight". And this is coming from a fan who doesn't really like EITHER team! Ok, rant over.

We'll see if he gets himself together and plays like SC Fleury....I'd still LOVE a 2-0 series lead heading home, but yea, I want to see Gus in Game 3 for sure, and if he runs the table again, just have him in for Game 4 too. 24 year old goalies with the coolness of a grizzled veteran aren't very common...Wild should feel fortunate they have one in Gustavssson.

All in all, given how things started, I'll take the 2-1 deficit. One could have argued the Wild were just out of it, had they gone to the dressing room down 2-0. Now, they are very much in it, still playing like they want to separate Dallas heads from bodies, and know they are just a shot away from an even score once again. MAF, of course, needs to make stops. His team can help him do that by not blatantly turning the puck over and/or doing stupid things to put the Wild shorthanded. We still got a game, boys!

As bad as this looks now, if the Wild can weather this, then get just ONE goal back and get this to 2-1, could go a long way towards evening out the playing surface. Everyone and their bookie knew Dallas was going to come out roaring after that double OT loss, and after the loss of Pavelski. Wild just have to get through this, and when Dallas takes a breath, strike them hard. One goal. Just one will do that...then it can just go from there!

According to the ESPN guys, it was an Evason decision. Based on the fact that the head coach thought playing the double OT game could have left Gus fatigued to where he won't be as sharp for his next start out. They also go on to say that Evason felt if MAF does lay an egg (something he is doing right now, as he just got scored on again), they could always bring back Gus fresh, at home, and without the stain of a Dallas comeback. Not saying I agree with that, but that's the word.

Well now! Erasing the lead...impressive feat getting two in a period against the Canes. But 20 minutes to go. Did that "two goal outburst" take everything out of the Islanders? Or do they have some fuel left in the tank to not only prevent anymore Hurricane goals, but to put at least one more past Raanta? We will see...

Man...Islanders are skating right with the Canes, but Carolina is just a hair, just a step, just a smidge, ahead of NY. They have put together a 2-0 lead, and while normally, that isn't insurmountable, the way the Canes lock stuff down, combined with the Islander inability to score in bunches, it might look like 4-0 to NY at the moment!
