  1. Yes, we have some real snipers in Tippet, Foerester and Brink. Now if we can get some playmaking centers to set them up,so they can reach their maximum offensive output. We had Giroux and Voracek who both passed and never shot, but no finishers, now we have the finishers and no playmaking centers, other than Frost and he has a way to go to be considered a second line center.
  2. Not banking on a lottery pick, but if we can trade up to 12-13 you have a much better shot at getting a good player. The islander’s got Noah Dobson at 12 , go look at his stats, Matt Boldy was also drafted at 12 and we got Farabee with the 14th pick. There are a lot of good defenseman in this draft, we need to make up for the loss of Seeler and Walker. We also have to make up for the injury prone defenseman we just traded for, this is Drysdale’s third major injury in three years. I don’t really care about the playoffs, this team is nowhere near as good as the record shows, this is mostly due to Torts. We have a long way to go in a rebuild. Our first big piece Gauthier didn’t wanna play and we traded him for a frail injury prone defenseman who is way behind in his development due to missing so much time. Our second big piece Michkov is coming in a few years hopefully. We have no centers in our system. Our top center, Coots is old has a bad back and is fading. We probably lost our starting goalie. No team is winning anything without two top caliber centers. We have none and drafting 25-30 with our pick and Floridas pick isn’t getting us the kind of center or defenseman we need. We need to get into the top 15. Don’t be fooled because as Coots hits a wall and we wait 2 years for Michkov this team is gonna take a big drop next year without the over achieving second pair and without Hart. Even if we draft a center this year he’s three years away from being a factor. We have great young wingers and a few good young dmen, but we are weak at the most important position.
  3. I see your point in the second round pick scenario, and Seeler and Walker have been great for us, but if we add a first and second for Walker and Seeler, that’s two free picks for guys that we basically got for nothing. Now we have three first rounders and two or three seconds in this draft and maybe another first for Laughton. That’s a lot of ammo to trade up in this draft and really jumpstart the rebuild. Attard can fill Steelers physical role and Andrae can eventually provide what Walker gave us. We may take a step back for a bit, but in the end we will be better off.Bonk is putting up huge numbers, but may take another year. The thing that worries me is this…. If you were in the NHL, 30 years old, having the best year of your career by a mile and you never had a big payday, as much as you love your team and the guys …are you taking a two year deal for a modest increase, or are you going to the team dumb enough to offer you 3 million for four years? I’d be chasing the money,it’s his last chance to set himself up for retirement. If your the Flyers and in a rebuild, do you pay Seeler 3 million for four years? Maybe if Risto was gone, but it seems lots of teams are asking for Seeler and Walker in a package and Briere wants a first and second for both.
  4. His grit and determination are definitely reminiscent of old school Flyers hockey, but one reason we haven’t won a cup in 50 years is we've always been the team with grit and determination and too little high end talent. If someone is offering a second round pick, then I’d trade him, if not then keep him for the playoff run.
  5. We knew this was coming, I just expected it alot sooner. On paper we are a bottom ten team. The Torts factor was the biggest reason we are having a good year. We also have two average dmen having career years and some young guys stepping up as well as TK. Now we lost Hart, we have Ersson tiring out, we have Coots hitting a wall , we lost Drysdale and once we trade the two dmen and Laughton we should drop back to where we really belong and get a better pick. I don't care about then playoffs,I'm more concerned about expediting the rebuild. Picking 20th isn't gonna do it.
  6. The most disappointing part is, our first big piece of the supposed rebuild decides he doesn't want to play for the team. Now it looks like we won't be picking anywhere near #5 anytime soon. Hopefully Michkov works out but the anxiety of waiting 2 more years is a killer.
  7. Yes, I agree. He did the best under the circumstances. I just have a feeling that Gauthier is gonna be game changer and Drysdale is gonna be like Ghost.
  8. The thing that worries me is, it took him until 30 to become this defenseman we see. I’m not sold, I can easily see him returning back from a second pair guy to a #7. I would trade him if we can get a second rounder or good prospect. If they only offer third, then keep him for a playoff run I would only re-sign him for a reasonable deal, but he’s thirty he had a career year and will be looking for that big pay day with long term security.
  9. Drysdale is a lot like some of our current and past young players, he has missed a lot of games due to injury and he is behind in his development. He has already had two major injuries including a torn labrum, which kept him out a full season. Not sure if it was the same shoulder that was injured tonight. I just hope he isn’t a snake bitten player who’s made of peanut brittle and always gets hurt. We already had more than our share…Lindros, Bourdon, Morin, Patrick,Allison and O’Brien. I know the Flyers were limited in the teams they could trade with, but considering Patrick and all the rest ,I’d be wary of trading for a guys who’s had two major injuries right off the bat. It seems that guys who get injured early on are always injured down the line.
  10. We signed Coots to a big contract and then he started to break down and now he will continue to decline, he played a lot of tough minutes from 18-29..
  11. In looking at that hit on Drysdale, I don’t think he took a head shot, it looks like a separated shoulder or an arm injury.
  12. If Drysdale is out, there goes trading Walker for any assets. Drysdale has been injured two years in a row with Anaheim and missed a lot of time. Hope he isn’t Nolan Patrick the second.
  13. All he had to do was standup and cut down the angle on that last goal, instead he goes down, he sucks.
  14. You can say that about a lot of NHL teams. There are so many teams with much more talent than the Flyers who are totally underperforming this year. On paper we are a bottom ten team. We have Torts who gets the most out of the least and we have a bunch of other teams underachieving. That’s the only reason we are in a playoff spot. You also have two defensemen who basically did nothing for their entire careers, that are having breakout seasons in their UFA contract years. Don’t be fooled this team has a long way to go in the rebuild.
  15. I sense a loss coming. You had an emotional 2-1 loss to the Rangers at home, now your on the road ,back to back games against a rested team that needs the win alot more than the Flyers do.
  16. Old school brawl, nothing like the lame grab the jersey with the left hand and jab with a handful of jersey of today.
  17. The weakest Cup winning goal in NHL history. I was at the game, nobody knew the puck went in but Kane.
  18. There is also the Torts factor, this team is nowhere near as talented as their record shows. Eventually they will take a huge step back to their true talent level. I'm hoping right after we unload Laughton and Walker.
