  1. Okay, I hear you. But I said we have 4 better than average d-men and 2 rookies (who don't suck) that can learn from those 4. Carle will be signed next year. Let's spend money on keeping the team together.
  2. So Flyerrod, are you saying the Flyers should go out and aquire another dman?
  3. I agree That Timo needs to chill with the TOI. Rookies can become veterans in the course of a season. We have four solid guys to teach them. Come Playoff time I certainly don't want to see Marshall and Bourdon together if they haven't progressed, hell i don't want to see them on the team if they haven't progressed. Like I said if the team continues it's winning ways, it's instrumental in the development of youth. Yes, throw in the occasional loss to remind you of how much it sucks and the need for improvement, but winning creates winners. Walker...I honestly don't know that much about him. Maybe I've been giving him to much credit Leach. But maybe his lack of playing time is affecting his play. I 'd like to think that the team did some research on him before aquiring him that would validate the trade.
  4. I don't know. I like what Bourdon and Marshall are bringing right now. The Flyers are 7 and 3 in their last 10 and these kids have been there for most of it. I think it's obvious to say that playing well in a winning environment creates a better player than one in a losing environment. They are being well nurtured. The team has other available options. I don't understand the lack of love for Walker and once Pronger, Lilja, Gustafsson and Bartulis are heathly they are gonna be over loaded on d. Let the kids keep on getting this (most) valuable experience. It certainly isn't hurting them right now. Lets face it, Timonen rocks!, Coburn is pretty damn good and Carle and Meszaros are holding up there end of the bargain. I'm pretty happy with things the way they are.
  5. Hey Block, I'll be 46 in 3 weeks...I feel your pain. People don't give a crap anymore and if they do it's for the wrong reason. I'm embarrassed for the league. The tv people that they employ to represent it are mostly idiots. When you listen to the nationally broadcast NFL announcers you can truly appreciate their lack of bias (other than Chris Collinsworth) . The NHL has people out there that are terrible at their jobs. Yet we are subjected to them night after night. It's pathetic. It's no suprise the NHL ranks where it does.
  6. NOT interested. The Flyers have some great team chemistry going on right now. Over 50 games to go and these guys, alot of them on a new team, have started to click. It seems like it gets better every game.
  7. Claude's numbers are fantastic. He's accomplished what he has in a game less than the guys who are flanking him, plus he's blocked more shots and put up better or equivalent special team numbers. Go Giroux! P.S. Lupul is proving to be no slouch at the moment either though. Who else besides Kessel does he have on the makebelieves that is helping him generate this kind of offense. Is Joff finally figuring it out?
  8. Asham. Man, it still really bums me out he's not a Flyer anymore. He was born for the O&B. I've shaken my head over quite a few moves.....i.e.Langkow, Sharp, not using Handzus or Kapanen correctly. Somehow though Asham sticks in my throut. If some mad scientist somewhere were creating a fourth line agitator who wasn't afraid to fight anyone and could occasionaly score he would've named him Ash the Flyer. Such a bummer.
  9. It really blows my mind that the NHL didn't have a plan in mind when they moved Atlanta to Winnipeg. Don't get me wrong, I think Manitoba is much more deserving of an NHL franchise than Georgia , but are you gonna tell me that Bettman couldn't have requested an emergency Owner/General manager meeting in the summer to ask either Columbus, Nashville or even Detroit to temporarily move to the east. Given some kind of monetary compensation or reduction for the following season I think that one of them would have bit. It is just so cheesy that there is a central Canadian Province team playing in the SE division.
  10. I'd like to think he's showing his appreciation for the raise and the extension. He's been playing some inspired hockey lately. Thanks Atlanta.
  11. Pilldoc that was said in complete sarcasm. I can't believe that Dopita, whose last season was early 2000's (while Jagr was still in the league) would have anything positive to say about his Flyers experience. But I agree that it still could be a former Flyer. Or at least a former player from the Flyers division.
  12. Yeah Flyerrod I agree, He is a great talent. He is however an incredible weasel. I know that many people think he's instrumental for the game of hockey and it's continued success. I don't feel that way. I think that his absence has been a blessing purely because I don't have to listen to the announcers -ACHOOO- Pierre Macguire- drooling over him. Honestly, my disdain for the guy aside, I think there are better representatives than him.
  13. Yeah, Walker's tough... I like that, and I had higher hopes for Lilja but they are both accident prone. With a team this young and unfamiliar with each other realiable defense is imperitive. What's up with Bartulis anyway? The organization was so hot for him. He kind of faded into the woodwork didn't he?
  14. So tonight versus a very lousy Columbus team he had 1 assist, was a +6, played 30 shifts and lead the team with 23 minutes of ice time. He has recently been compared to Kimmo. Is he the real deal or was it just a great night?
