  1. So much for waiving him... Maybe they were trying to just get Homer to waive him instead of giving up 3 picks? haha
  2. I truly feel Bob is a starter in this league, he has the skill, athleticism, and work ethic to be a very capable goalie. That being said, he NEEDS playing time to improve. He shouldn't be on the bench in the backup position. Some guys know their role and play that position well, some guys don't. If the Flyers can get value out of him they should pull the trigger. This draft class is stocked in terms of defensemen and flipping Bob for a 2nd rounder would be huge considering he was an undrafted UFA signing. If we can package that pick and 20th overall to move up a bit and get a solid prospect I'm all for it. Even using the 20th overall and whatever 2nd could pay dividends. Can't wait for tomorrow!
  3. I know a guy... give me 2 hours and this trade will go down!
  4. What would it take to get Ryan and Sbisa? JVR, 1st (20th overall), and ??
  5. Flyers can come out flat and dead on any given night regardless of any circumstance. That being said they can go down 3-0 in the 1st and come back in the 2nd and 3rd which happened to them on several occasions already. They are a good team and any team can beat any team in the playoffs but I'm confident we can take them if we play our game offensively and we continue to help Bryz out.
  6. I'll take the cup... Then still jettison Richards and Carter for an even bigger return since they are proven winners
  7. Haha that's awesome. I'm sure he's loving the attention on him (that doesn't involve his divorce). Props to the Hulkster!
  8. I'd imagine injured, but I'm not 100%. I just heard it on NHL live a few minutes ago and they didn't provide specifics.
  9. I'll share some of my scotch with ya. I actually gained respect for Pens fans while losing more than I would ever thought for the actual team. I'm so used to the Pens fans blindly defending their team regardless of their actions but every Pens fan I know (I know more than I'd like!) are disgraced at their teams action. Sure they are embarrassed by the poor play, team defense, and goaltending but I think the dirty play has really hit them. As for Cooke, he is like the prisoner that gets released for actually being rehabbed and coming back out into society. I couldn't stand him for obvious reasons but he has shown complete discipline during this entire series. Whether or not that discipline is forced due to fear of long-term suspension or not is a whole other story but bravo to Cooke for cleaning up his act. Here's to a clean honest game 4, cheers.
  10. So, Neal, Asham, Adams, and now Martin out... let's just end this tonight and rest up for the next series!
  11. Hockey is going to turn into soccer real quick if this time of disciplinary action keeps up. "Schenn has a concussion and we don't believe he will be back until next season" - Homer "OMG this is horrible, Asham needs to be suspended 20 games" - Shanny "Our previous diagnosis is incorrect, Schenn will be ok and be able to play tomorrow night" Homer "Awww #$$@, guess I messed that up?" Shanny Give me a break. The discipline should be dished out based off of INTENT not the actual outcome. This disgusts me to no end!
  12. My question is how long would their suspensions be if Schenn, Coots, and Roux were hurt? This whole punishment based on injury is absolute ********. I don't agree with it one bit, punish based off of the intent!
  13. Why not at this point right? Phantom's season is over and in case anyone goes down we can plug these guys in. That being said, hopefully not a single one of them gets playing time except maybe Gustafsson and Manning.
  14. Couturier wasn't even NEAR the puck. I still don't understand how that wasn't a charge/interference/roughing but Schenn's hit was? I was talking to a Pens fan earlier at work and she was even saying the refs completely blew that game up and that Asham, Neal, and Adams should be suspended for the remainder of the playoffs and possibly next year. Then you look at the Weber hit and Carkner going after Boyle (really that only got 1 game?) I wouldn't be surprised if they get a $2,500 fine.
  15. Holy ****! Big Trouble in Little China!!!!! I completely forgot about that movie. I remember watching it a million times on a taped VHS haha
  16. Every Rangers fan I've talked to recently has been hoping for the same. I don't think they want us to win in hopes of the Rags playing the Flyers. They just hate the Pens that much. Quite honestly, if they were playing the Pens I would be cheering for the Rangers as well. The Penguins are hated by every fan of the game (I don't consider 99% of Pens fans as real fans).
  17. I heard 4 years at $3.5 a year was the deal
  18. There is a Philip Kuba on the Senators... sure they weren't talking about him?
  19. Not sure anyone can honestly say that they have missed JVR this season. That being said there are multiple players having career years which has made any offensive production he may have brought to the table seem a lot less important. That being said, having a big body chip in 20 goals wouldn't hurt either. He still has so much potential in him and is able to produce to a certain degree at this point in his career making him very valuable and attractive to other teams. Only way I'm trading him is for a dman in a similar situation.
  20. To be fair, Thomas looked like crap as well. Not really sure why Lavy put Briere in that situation, the guy doesn't have any confidence in the goal-scoring department and you throw him to the wolves? Sure if he got the goal it may have been a boost but now he's even more in the pit. Tough fought game, shame a skills competition decided the outcome.
  21. And look at the cap hits among all those players, Giroux is costing less than half the amount than most of them. What a deal, if only it were a tad longer (oh wait never mind, he'd probably be in LA by now then).
  22. Shame those 2 goals killed the streak. He didn't have a chance on either one of them.
  23. I would like to see them completely restructure this cap system. It would probably never happen but I think players should be signed to a percentage deal instead of a set dollar amount. This would prevent the huge long term front loaded contracts. This would also motivate players to promote their market and league more to help push for a more healthy profitable league. The salary cap has certainly helped protect GMs from themselves to a certain degree but I think this would go one step further. As it stands right now the cap has always gone up. What if it goes down? Say you have a team right up against the cap limit one year and the next year it drops putting them over the cap. Players would have to be sent out for next to nothing just so they would be within the limit. A percentage cap figure would prevent anything like this from happening. Anyways, I'm off to my mad scientist lab to conjure up some more crazy ideas that will never come to be!
  24. Still not sold. Bryzaster has certainly turned into Bryznasty and turned his game to a new level (one that should have been there since game 1. His play as of late has been quite solid and not leaving me shaking my head or looking away form the TV every time an opposing scoring opportunity arises but I want to see if he can hold up this level for an extended period of time before I say "Hey we got ourselves a goalie!". The fact that he is playing this well without Pronger, Meszaros, Timonen, and Kubina is saving this team. He really couldn't have found a better time to get hot, with those types of injuries and Bryzaster in net we would be quickly on the outside looking in. With the new and improved Bryznasty he is not only keeping us competitive in games but stealing us wins. Thanks for finding your soul Bryz!
