  1. Any word on carcillo's injury? From the replay I saw, it looked like a pretty nasty knee injury.
  2. Dude, from that angle, it looks like you could have grabbed an F-18 by the tail. Thanks for posting..great pics!!
  3. Aziz..you're a goalie, right? Explain this to me...and not to be negative towards Bob, just an observation. The 2 "knocks" I remember hearing on Bob last year where: 1-he played too deep in his net and 2-he had a tendency to make himself "small" in the net-even for a butterfly style goalie. In watching him this year, I still see those 2 things happen regularly every game he plays. Not saying it's easy to change something you've been doing most of your life, but would you think Reese would have been able to make some improvements to Bob by now? Again, not crushing either one on those issues, but asking legit question..
  4. I agree 100%. They have been struggling to score consistently the last few weeks..after leading the league in goals for early. Defensive lapses are killing them in their own zone. And then we have the goaltending. What a frustrating loss. Up 2-0...leading after 2..and they still lose. The Rangers are the team to beat in the East right now. Playing well, and they've beat us 3 in a row. Each game they beat us a different way.
  5. Agree with your post except for that statement. Getting beat short side, under the arm..by MIKE RUPP..is ALL on Bob. He needs to make that save..pure and simple.
  6. @Vincent05 stop making sense when I'm ranting, damn it.
  7. His goals against average has crept above 3.00 and his save percentage has dropped to the bottom five in the NHL (third lowest among goalies who have made 20 or more starts) Read that sentence over and over and over....Bryz is making $10,000,000.00 this year. Yes, that's 10 million. The highest salary in the league this year for a goalie, and I believe the highest 1 yr goalie salary in NHL history. He is also signed for 8 more years. He was signed to stop the goalie carousel, he was signed to be the goalie we haven't had for 20 years, he was signed to be better than he has been. I don't care about the teams' play in front of him, I don't care that Pronger is out..none of it matters...none of it. This team is where it is for every reason BUT the goalie!!! We(myself included) KILL a kid like JVR...yet we all continue to make excuses for the the goalie. His play is unacceptable, he is not making key saves, he is not making big saves, and he is not helping his team. Damn..does he pass the "eyeball" test right now???? NO! Can he get better, can he be the goalie they Flyers thought they signed, can he carry the team..I think the answer to all those is yes. I'm not giving up hope, and there's a lot of hockey left this year. But for me...I'm tired of the excuses, apologists, etc...step up, own the crease, make the key saves, inspire your teammates. EARN YOUR ******* PAYCHECK!!!
  8. on IR today...not looking good for him. Too bad..looks to be another shortened by repeated head injuries
  9. @hf101 Would explain his apparent lack of effort, I always complain about...hard to skate 100% if he has that injury. This team is just cursed with injuries this year. WTH!?!
  10. @Vincent05 Your signature sounds like a girl I knew in college...
  11. If he needs surgery, they need to do it now. He isn't helping the team at all right now. If he's truly hurt, get it fixed, and get him healthy for April. As FC mentioned, imagine if he this is next year, at $4.25/mil/year...OUCH.
  12. Too bad they made a decision already..I was hoping the bag of wind would miss the Winter Classic. http://slam.canoe.ca/Slam/Hockey/News/2011/12/23/19163431.html
  13. I only caught the 3rd period...was Shelley dressed? What about Rinaldo? I don't remember seeing either play in the 3rd...but I was doing other things when the game was on as well.
  14. I kinda thought it was because the cameras were following Bryz around and the rest of team didn't want to deal with the HBO crew during lunch.
  15. Bob didn't look like he was enjoying his little speech at lunch, did he? Keep stuffing his face with carrots and didn't say a word.
  16. Bryz is just a highly compensated, untradeable flake as far as I can tell. Better, no??
  17. THAT'S THE PROBLEM!!! Bryz doesn't want a stuffed bear! He wants a stuffed tiger!! DOH DOH DOH DOH!!!
  18. So you don't like him cause he's dumb? I got no problem with that. Just bustin' your stones, Aziz. I just don't see the sustained effort this year. Watch Giroux, Talbot, Simmonds, etc...there is NO doubt they bust ass for 45 secs a shift. The results may vary, but effort is there. Not seeing it with JVR..and after watching how he can play when he has that "mindset" in last year's playoffs, it's maddening. He could flat out dominate. Instead, we go 1-2 periods without hearing his name.
  19. I just looked up his stats since that's really the only way to evaluate him at this point. Granted the sample size is small(30 games vs 82), but has Bryz ever been 36th of 44 in Save Percentage or 31st of 44 in GAA? I didn't do the historical look up, but I feel confident saying no. Based on that, I would say he's been worse than the goalie he's always been. More importantly, he has failed the eyeball test for me. He just doesn't look confident, he doesn't look "good". He makes routine saves look alarmingly difficult at times, he appears to lose focus, and at times, it appears he just doesn't care. Case in point, the shootout last night....yeah, I know...both goalies looked bad. But based on his post game comment about hating shootouts, it appears that he checked out during the shootout to me. He looked terrible on all 3 goals.
  20. I never compared him to Cechmanek..way to early for that. But I stand by my original point...hisform/discipline/focus was terrible on that goal. With 40 seconds left in the period, tie game on the road, with a depleted line-up, they can't score from that place on the ice. I'm not throwing in the towel, I'm not saying all is lost, and I'm not saying Bryz is not the answer. I will say this..he has to be better. IMO, he was "won" 1 game for us..the Pens game the other week. I thought he was outstanding in that game. Other than that, he has been average. For what he is getting paid and for what is expected of him, he needs to be better than average.
  21. Did notice the players reaction on that horrible 2nd goal he gave up? Two of them looked straight to the ceiling, almost like, "not again!" I'm not a goalie, and don't play one on TV, and I didn't stay at a Holiday Inn last night. But is it TOO much to ask that when the opposing team has the puck behind our net, to put your effing stick on the ice, and close the 5-hole? For fu*ck's sake...Bryz was sitting on the goal line, stick in the air, and his legs as wide as a new bride on her honeymoon on that deflection.
  22. Have to agree with you on this, bud. I remember last year telling a buddy..no way Boston wins it. They have no offense, they have no PP, etc. His only comeback.."yeah, but they have Thomas". And he was right. They are such a hard team to gauge, think about it, they had to win 3 game 7's last year..2 in OT. Granted they won them all, and I'm not trying to take anything away from that, or their Cup...but it's not like they are the 27 Yankees. You look at the lineup, and think..yeah..they can be beat. Then they go out, and play defense that smothers the other team like a fat chick on a chicken bone, and if they breakdown Timmy T slams the door. And Claude Julien STILL looks like Grimace, from the McDonalds' characters. No one will ever convince me otherwise.
  23. Knock it off, FC. You know Homer reads this site...don't go giving him any ideas!
