Whatever team loses the series will point to this game and say "it's because we were tired from all that overtime"

I watched the end of that game just now to see it and that was quite the finish. Columbus messed up two opportunities to score on the empty net, while the leafs put enough pressure to get the goals just in time. Some good play right there

Chicago pull ahead after a win in an entertaining match. The oilers shouldn't be having that much difficulty getting the wins

They picked up in the third but the damage was done by then. Hopefully they'll perform better next time

Gonna be funny listen to Alice in Chains, Soundgarden and hopefully Screaming Trees in the intermissions.
They better play 'Man in the Box' when they get a penalty

So I was going to start a new Seatle Kraken forum, but it looks like the NHL will need to revamp the divisions soon. lol
I was under the impression seattle will be pacific and Arizona would be moved to Central

Melnyk is an ass hat - that is all.
I used to be a sens fan, but Melnyk really soured me on them and I moved on. If he sold the team I'd consider supporting them again but not before. It's a pity because they have a great fan community he doesn't deserve

OK I've thought about it for at least thirty seconds. Kraken was, out of the list of names, one of my preferred ones, mainly because there weren't that many good options. I'm surprised they went for it though, given how many arguments potential names caused I was half expecting them to go for a lazy 'corporate think tank' type name like Force, Storm, or Adrenaline (my city's team name which I think sucks).
In terms of the colours they were in a difficult position. From a branding perspective they needed the dominant colour to be unique, however all the likely candidates were taken and with a marine theme of limited their options further (no purple, which from comments elsewhere in this forum seems to be an unpopular colour - I like it). They could have gone with aqua, though I guess they wanted something dark to reflect the whole 'depths of the ocean' thing. As I mentioned above it looks like a darker shade of blue than used by the other teams (though I stand by my general opinion there are too many blue and red teams out there, especially since they use the same shade) which will separate them from the pack a little. Until one of the other blue teams decides to copy them.
The jersey design looks really good. The logo suits well on the jersey and the two bands of lighter blue break up the mass of dark blue as well as complement the logo as they were consistent with the shades used. I was hoping for more red but its light use as trim is very effective.
The only thing I dislike are those anchors on the shoulders. They seem unnecessary and it looks like they were added because they felt an obligation to have patches on the shoulders

Hmm, interesting. More blue than I thought there would be, but it looks like the main blue is not the same shade used by a quarter of the league.

Regardless of what name they chose it would have annoyed some people. So it looks like the rumoured dark salmon will be a colour along with light blue. The jersey reveal will be interesting

Oilers in four, they have the talent to make it to the proper playoffs
-
I put pens in four, they'll win it but I see the habs eking out a win at some point

Apparently something will happen 9am pacific time on the 23rd. Possibly a name reveal. Check out this pointless Facebook video
