  1. I was thinking that it might be easier in Chicago for Bryz because there isn't as much pressure, they won a year or so ago and Chicagoans have dealt with disappointment for years in the Cubbies, but then again, Chicago is not an easy place to play and he comes with a huge price tag.
  2. Was reading how JR thinks the Hawks can get rid of Kane for a goalie, Anyway they pick up Bryz for Kane straight up? Maybe throw in a youngster, but not Coots? I know, I know, will never happen. Would be nice to develop Bob, pick up Kane and work on a D-man/men over the summer, with all that money back in the bank.
  3. This game is terrible. Pierre and the other announcers are acting like these guys are just unbelieveable and are just putting some crazy moves. The D on team Alfie isn't even trying, period. They are like Hossa's nickname is Hello Good-bye and look at the move he made. Showed the replay and the D did nothing. Where's the remote, I can't listen to these tools.
  4. Aziz, totally agree, the squad is playing ok, not cup contender great, but good, why blow up the squad when they are producing pretty good numbers ans showing they could be something great in the future. They will make playoffs no problem, might win a series maybe not, but in years to come they are looking really good with all the young kids stepping in. Besides, if they do make a move for Weber/Suter and we are sitting in a decent position why not wait?
  5. Your right maybe Talbot cannot teach him to be a powerforward, but he can teach him to do work every night regardless. I think that is just what JVR needs is someone to teach him how to work hard every night. As for showing their cards, I agree, why show your cards and say we want Weber or Suter? Doesn't make sense. But then again who doesn't want Weber or Suter?
  6. Just read the write up on Hockey Buzz about JVR and Schenn, I know, I know, total BS and I right there with ya, but he did have some good points about G and Jagr and what JVR needs. He said JVR needed someone to teach him and guide him, like Jagr has done for G. I totally agree with him, God is that scary, but that's what JVR needs. I would like someone with more offensive skills, but I think Talbot would be great for JVR. He is a crazy hard worker and seems to come to work every night no mattert who the opponent is. This might help JVR with his work ethic on a nightly basis. He is defensive, so when JVR does his thing and sometimes gets himself out of position, Talbot can bail him out, hopefully. Is not afaid of the corners and will use the body. JVR is not a finesse player like G, he needs speed and to use his body, so he might need someone like Talbot. Not sure if they have played with each other yet this year. Who else would be a good fit? Hate to say it, but Richie may have be the perfect fit for him.
  7. @Vincent05 I agree with you, he needs to keep his mouth shut and get his head in the game, unfortunately, I think when he started popping off at the mouth about tightening up the D and taking a man while he was playing like **** probably isn't/didn't help team chemistry. I agree with another poster, can't remember who, but they made the comment that the team was so happy and really excited to celebrate a win with Bob, they seem to like playing in front of the kid.
  8. @doom88 Just read it myself, not good for team chemistry, I guess they were right about him, what a d**k, if you thought is was bad before Bryz, you better get ready unless you actually show up and play for a change.
  9. I'm not sure who and what they would give up. If we could unload him and sign Bob for $3/4 mil and get some draft picks or some good prospects, I'm cool with that. Yeah maybe, Columbus (get Carter back, I know we don't need him and he hates management, but i think he'd go anywhere at this point, maybe Umberger, they will not give up Nash), maybe Calgary (Igilna or Jay Bo). Not sure.
  10. From watching 24/7, you get the feeling that the players have bought into what Lavi is trying to do and respond to what he has to say. If there is a riff between him and Bryz, oh well, get your **** together and you might get more playing time. Forget about what your gonna say on 24/7 or to the press and just do work. I know Bryz has a crazy long contract, but he is not going to sit behind Bob and watch him play like he did with the Ducks, so he will waive his NTC and someone will want him. They may even get some nice players in return.
  11. You know what, if he is what they say he is, the Yotes that is, then keep him on the bench, the players do not need their goalie throwing them under the bus when they play well and he does not. Personally I would do everything I could to keep Bob and if he continues to play better than Bryz, so be it, Bryz will get mad and want to play, waive the NTC and they can get out from under this crazy contract.
  12. What goalie controversy? They go with the goalie playing the best and that just so happens to be the guy being paid $1.75 mil and not $10 mil. If both are playing great or both are playing like s**t, then I get the goalie controversy thing. As far as I am concerned, this is a no brainer, you go with the guy playing the best so you can get 2 points. If Bryz wants to play, then show it.
  13. @flyercanuck Weber would set us up for a while, but I'd really like to keep these young kids that are playing major minutes and playing well. I know they will have to give someone up, but 2 or 3.
  14. After watching today's game, there is no way we need to send Bob in some trade to get a star D-man. He is more than capable of being the starter and the way Bryz is playing we are going to need him. Keep Bob!
  15. Flyercanuck, was thinking the same thing, I hope they don't give up anything we have in the line-up right now, they look pretty good and are playing well together. I hope Homer can get a deal, where only one regular goes and maybe a prospect or two, maybe a draft pick. We have a nice looking rookie class right now and may just be set up for years to come.
  16. The squad looks pretty good right now. They have a good mix of young vets (if there is such a thing) and some young to really young kids, but as the season goes on, these vets are gonna ware down. They need a 2/3 D-man now, so this does not become a problem.
  17. FlyGuys03, we have a franchise D-man, hurt or not we have him for a while and I don't think that they can afford another franchise D-man unless Pronger goes on LTIP for a long time.
  18. Sorry, can't do it, not worth it.
  19. OK, well maybe not, he just signed a 1 year deal
  20. It's gonna be a big price tag, didn't he just resign with Nashville?
  21. I don't think that extra pressure the C brings, is going to do Briere any good.
  22. That's funny that you said Weber, I was thinking we need a guy who is a presence. Tough guy who is smart and will do some dirty work, someone like Weber but without the price tag.
  23. Pronger is done for the season, so what now? Who do they get to fill a huge hole without giving up the farm now that each and every team knows we need D help?
  24. I really like the shot clock idea and you're right something needs to be done.
  25. Aziz, I totally agree with you about the back checker, Kane would have been drilled, he was just standing there. What's the goalie gonna do?
