At the Flyers team Christmas party after that incident, there was a Santa Claus who asked Sandy McCarthy what he wanted for Christmas. McCarthy said he didn't know, and Santa said "How about a Tie Domi doll. You wind it up and it skates away." I am think it was Berube who was dressed up as Santa. Probably one of the funniest pieces I have ever seen. Ti Domi for being a "tough guy" is one of the biggest ******* to ever lace up the skates.....

I was pretty toasted so no ball busting was involved. He is a pretty personable guy from my recollection.

Jan 30,2009 Flyers 6 Lightning 1 It was the most memorable to me because I got stuck sitting with 6 guys who were Leaf fans catching the game because they were there for golfing(insert joke here) and to catch the Superbowl. It was not a very fair verbal battle as the Leafs were absolutely horrible that year and it did not take long to quiet them down. The Flyers absolutely owned the lightning and the best part of it was in the bar after the game in downtown Tampa, I got to meet and and shake hands with Bob Clarke. That is a memory I will carry with me forever.

I think it would be a great gesture if they hung both his and Mccrimmon's Jerseys at the same time. Somehow I don't think John Leclaire would mind.

I think some of the players are currently playing a cut above the norm (IMHO). Did anyone expect to see Sean Courturier as a fixture or the PK (and doing quite well I might add) at the tender age of 18? Did anyone expect Jagr at 39 to be able to draw Hartnell out of the funk he has been in and get the production from him? Matt Read, an un-drafted and unsigned rookie bringing to the ice what he has with energy and scoring? I was initially sceptical about the Richards move but Simmonds is filling in excellently and we have yet to see what Schenn is capable of. It is still way to early to annoint this team as anything, but they certainly are headed in the right direction.

The game last night was another ham fest when it came to the penalties that were called. I really believe it would help the game if they start fining the divers of the league. They can start with Briere. I don't know how many times he tried to draw a penalty last night by flopping on the ice and looking to the ref for a call. What it does is throws the timing of everyone out of sync and usually leads to a scoring chance from the other team because he puts everyone out of position when he does it. Until the divers of this league ( Avery, Briere, Neal, Malkin, Carcillo, Kennedy, Conolly , Bergeron just to name a few) start getting fined regularly by the league, this Greg Louganis fest will continue. Make the fines increase with more infractions and use the fines for a charity fund. Everybody wins that way, especially the fans that are tired of the BS calls due to the diving.....

On that play, Cousins got a misconduct and Rupert got a major. Rupert should have dropped the gloves and gone after him. The way Rupert shed the gloves and went after him when Cousins went to the ice tells me that Cousins was probably hamming it up. It did not look like he pitchforked him with the blade but caught him with the handle. Not nice but a world of difference if you have ever been on the receiving end.....

For all the stupid penalties Hartnell takes, not all of them are earned. His reputation brings calls down on him too.

Lucic most certainly could have left up and turned away(therefore it was correctly called a penalty although I an not sure I would call it charging,possibly roughing or interference). BUT, if you watch the replay Miller knows the hit is coming, and expected Lucic to turn away some. In essence Miller was preparing to dive to get the call if Lucic so much as brushed him. I think Lucic knew that and decided, if I am going to get called, I should at least get my money's worth.

Rick Jeanneret.........need I say more...It was funny to hear him screaming for Lucic's head. I swear if they had a camera on Jeanneret, He would have been foaming at the mouth...

Cement head has and always will be a coward. He has taken more cheap shots at people than Don Rickles at a comedy Roast. I have not heard much about him since his affair with some woman from the Canadian Parliament/Legislators?. For all we know, he could be the one trolling the philly.com board. The age and mentality is about right.......

I was never a big John Stevens fan when he was a coach for the Flyers. I think a large part of that was he left the inmates run the asylum( or at least it appeared that way). When he played with the Phantoms, or coached, he always seem to get the most out of his team. Congrats to him on his induction.

I am with Vincent05 in despising that horse-faced, whining and diving bitch. That being said, he is still an incredible player that has to be accounted for every time he sets foot on the ice. He might not have been so despised had he not come into the league under Mario's tutelage on how to cry to the refs to get calls....

Could he be traded to the Marlies(AHL to AHL) or due to his contract, would he have to be recalled to the NHL? Then the onus would be on Toronto to try and bring him through waivers. Is that possible?

Excellent point aziz. If the Flyers were on the hook for 1/2 his salary only(not applicable to the cap), He would already be a Leaf playing in the NHL again. This rule is most detrimental to the border line players(like Leighton). For the cap hit alone, Leighton will not be moved unless Homer were to get some kind of waiver waiver which would remove the cap hit for the Flyers. I guess it would be possible if they could get the Board of Governors(who just happen to be meeting next week) to agree to the waiver waiver.

I actually think the Flyers will play better against them if they are a stronger team than previous years. And by looking at their lineup, they can't help but be better.

Everyone please take the time to thank a vet if you are not one and if you are,find some of your old friends and re-stoke the fires of camaraderie you had when you were serving. There are many things in life I owe to my time served in the military.Team work, honor, and friendship are at the top of the list. Asham was another victim of breaking up the crew. He wanted to stay in philly but they went out and signed Shelley for the 1.1 mil per and did not really discuss an extension with him. It still irritates me that we could have had a 3 rd line player with enough skills to score as well as drop the gloves but instead we got Shelley. That is probably one of the biggest reasons I am not a Shelley fan.
