Sorry bro aint' going to happen. Briere needs to do one thing this off season that you can tell he didn't do this past off season. TRAIN!!!! And that is be more committed to getting stronger and in better shape. I know his life has changed dramatically after splitting with his wife and he has to take care of his 2 boys but he needs to find time to train MORE. Him keeping his sons i'm sure kept him from training like he as done in the past and to me is the #1 contributor to his up and down season. Losing Leino and Hartsy didn't help but his lack of conditioning is so apparent to me. I know for myself if i had to take care of my little girl (11months old now) and work without my wife my health and sleep would take a toll and it would show itself on my job. But thank God i have my WONDERFUL supporting wife to take care of my darling. So with that said Danny take care of his boys has jumped to the for front and it is showing in his game. Here's to hoping he can find a good girlfriend to help out!!! If so and he trains right he will return to form.

@doom88 You make all good points, that is why i'm ok with letting him walk after the postseason. Unless something dramatically changes between no wand then. Regardless of his play with the Fly guys cap situation he'd have to sign for about 1.5 mill, before i would even consider it. Hell they still have one more season @1.7mill to bury Walker in the minors. At the point i have been more impressed with MAB play and even though he's not quite as big he skates better and he can really lay the wood with his check too IMHO. Playoffs can change everything though....here's to a great out come!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Verse the Pens this would be a penalty for sure...... Coburn's game has gotten much grittier since they were paired together. They will be great again in these playoffs i believe.

In reference to Marshall i couldn't tell if his speed was due to just him being slow or just he brain slow breaking down just what was happening around him and processing it. Make the two together. Either way he's gone. Phantoms need scorers with so much on the talent on n the big club. They'll get an infusion of talent next season. Hovinen/Hetter in net, Nobles should make the jump. Konan and Mangene may add a little more talent, who knows with all these rookie points this season. And another 1st round talent hopefully added draft time this season. Future is brite! Edit: Brendan Ranford should make the next step also. I'd also expect Blidstrand to be signed once Janvenski's season is over and contract feed up.

Great move. Lilja will not be resigned. Bourdon will be resigned to a modest 1mill raise for the next 2-3 years. Carle may walk, then Kubina will maybe be resigned cheaply. Gus and Manning are both still under contract through next season @ 900K. So it will look like this: Coburn/Kimmo GrossmanN/Mezz Gus/Bourdon maybe Kubina as well. Manning for call up injury duty. Edit: One option could be trade JVR for a top #5 pick and prospect then Carle could be resigned with that savings. Regardless there is no way i would give him a contract bigger than the one Coburn signed... ...just let him walk. Or trade his rights if possible.

Absolutely no need to rush out, but if he proves to be the REAL deal like i have seen so far, it's a must... ...if for no other reason to show other college prospects that "hey sign with the Flyers and they will give you every chance to rise to the top and get REWARDED for it." Just sends a great message around the league. Who knew??? But Read speed is really, really impressive. Would be a great foot race with him going agaist Welly....but i think Welly maybe the fastest in the ENTIRE league...Grabner is a close race too.

Wow!!!!!!!!! For 2 more years...what a move by Homer... ...netted 24 goals so far.... ...is there a better bargain in the NHL this year???? Maybe even the last decade? Seems like it would be highway robbery to let this kid play for just 900K for the next 2 years, so sometime next year i would expect some kind of extension to keep him in the fold for years to come and yet also to reward him at the same time. Myself i wouldn't have played him again till the playoffs, let him completely heal up and stay sharp in practice...Bob can handle the load till the end. Oh well team took a confidence shot tonight...but i won't put a whole lot of stock in it..they are healthy and we are banged up. The get Mezz,Briere and GrossmanN i like our chances. Playoff pressure and intensity is a test Lunqvist hasn't passed yet.....regular season is one thing playoffs another,,,but i guess the same can be said for Bryz...but first things first...Pens first...would just like to be healthy for that initial series, it will be a war.

@Pods yeah it seems as GrossmanN has brought/thought him to add a nastier edge to his game.

GrossmanN will be easier to sign than Carle, hope he is ready to start the first round . It depends on what Carle thinks he's worth. Certainly not worth more than Braydon or Mezz IMHO.
