  1. Stats like these, coupled with the stale talent, are how you lose games....again, and again, and again. You simply cannot sacrifice 30-40% of your man advantage with this level of production. I hate teams run on analytics - but do we use ANY statistical analysis? Or, does our 'braintrust' just coach on 'feel' and 'all their dated experience?'
  2. Anybody looked at our stats on PP2? I almost pissed myself. Gaudreau with 1 pt, Spurgeon with 3 (they have been longest/most on PP2), then Steel with 3, Hartman with 1 pt, Foligno with 2. There are PPs where Evason gives them 40% of the available time. Just watch the top teams (see Edmonton, Ottawa, Tampa, LA, Toronto, and others) - they do NOT give PP2 the same opportunity (particularly when they SUCK A55)
  3. Our 4th Line has ZERO finishing ability (unless it is SH with DeWar). They have fallen off a cliff since mid-year.
  4. He absolutely IS frustrated. He does not have talented help on his line and is now flailing around a lot. The Fiala loss is huge for him, and for our overall scoring. What a bone-headed move; just move Dumba and keep Fiala. Since you didn't, give Boldy SOMEONE with scoring/set-up ability. I don't want to see PUDreau on Boldy's line ever again (and certainly not Kaps); he is ZERO offensive threat (chokes all momentum off). Bring up Rossi and play him with Kap/Zucc, and Walker and Beckman with Boldy. Hartman plays with EEK (Greenway traded, on 4th line or in stands). Foligno comes back, and he plays with Hart and EEK. After 54 games, Steel can hit waivers or 4th line, and PUDreau can play on EEK line until a Greeway trade, and then decide who are the two most productive to play with EEK; Foligno, Hartman, PUDreau, the lose hits the 4th line with DeWar (not much to see with Shaw and DuHaime - they have not impressed after 54 overall). We just have to bring up the skill. We have Mgmt. that moves WAY TOO SLOW to make changes.
  5. It does have promise. Now, we only need 3 more lines with EEK and nothing but low knack players to choose from.
  6. The cap is an issue. I do, however, think they we could work around it if DE and BG would stop stubbornly trying to justify their initial inclinations and 'course correct' accordingly. They have a deep and talented pool, but seem to be transfixed upon 'value pick-ups', grinders, salvage-jobs, playing highest salaries, and capitalizing on great seasons long since passed by. It does NOT need to be this way. They are both stubborn 's that have to prove their initial plan was the 'right one', as opposed to adapting to changing performance(s) and results.
  7. I think this game will cement the idea that Gus is the starter and Fleury is the back-up. That is, until/if they make the playoffs, wherein BG will try to ride 'past glory' again and come up empty in the initial series (though I don't see us making the playoffs without a fundamental 'course correction' in line-ups, call-ups, etc; we are about to slide off into the abyss of the Draft Lottery.
  8. Fleury must know that with Gus and Wall, his 'freshness date' has elapsed. It's all about stats now.
  9. About as surprised as I would be if our President shits his pants at the podium.
  10. How are we up 28-9 in shots and losing 3-1? Maybe they should be locked in at practice until each player scores 5 times on our goalies.....? Of course with some, they would miss the rest of the season while sleeping at the practice facility.
  11. Our D looks like 5hit, as does Fleury. Of course, with 1 goal potential, it matters not. This may be the game that takes us out of the hunt barring a lucky wildcard.
  12. BG/DE have literally pressed all the wrong buttons this year: 1) No Fiala for Boldy 2) Kept Dumba again, only to lose a better player (Fiala, and Tuch) 3) Did not play Gus as frequently as they should have until recently 4) Messed with Rossi by lining him up with scrubs ('gotta earn it,' while others have not) 5) Saw the second coming of last years Ryan Hartman in Sam Steel (the Ducks suck, and even they did not retain his services) 6) They continue to stifle their top 2 lines with players that don't belong, dragging their Stars down in production 7) Acting like Spurgeon is one of the Top 10 D in the NHL - he isn't, but Brodin could be 8)Over-reliance on the GREFF Line, PP2, and Line 4 - they are NOT good this year 9) Wrecking the future by letting guys rot in IA, awaiting some fictional 'development' that is questionable at best against lesser competition (Walker should be up too) 10) Establishing a 'protected class' versus the Country Club - how about everyone is equal, and lose the 'head games' BS Need I go on?
  13. Greenway is no Mike Bossy, but Brodz was one of the Legends of missing the easy pass/shot - an ALL TIME skid mark
  14. Zucc is 'pass first', but at least he hits the net and trusts a better shooter. Part of EEK and Boldy's problem is that their 'gun sights' are off, and there is literally NO THREAT on their lines to pass to.
  15. THAT is an exaggerated statement. I have seen curbs with more flexibility, pliability and grace than Brodz.
  16. Talbot is cooked now...Maybe it destroyed him, but they thought they were going with the playoff legend versus the perennial 'also ran' in the playoffs - not always a bad call, but we did not know how to play defense with Fleury's 'big rebound' game. This is another are where Wild Mgmt. misjudged how the D would play in front of Fleury.
