Here's another thought I've been wondering about 'Tanking'.
How do you sell the idea to the team that it'll better their future getting a better pick?
Because take away the core players who are locked in for years to come. They get paid so no big deal if they lose and will eventually reap the benefits of a good player in the draft.
But what about the other 1/2 of the team who probably won't be with the team in 2 years or so?
They'll want to get their stats up for potential Contracts/Trades and yet they're told "Sorry kid, Make it look good but don't score"

Granny Denied.
Haven't ever heard that before. -

I kind of wonder if CL doesn’t just want the money.
Not sure how the Parise/Suter buyouts work as far as what they actually pay out.
But I'm pretty sure CL doesn't mind NOT paying the $14 million that the buyout cap hit prevents.
The problem with CL is he's a fan first. Just like Eloise Pohlad.

Has anyone heard any comments from owner CL on this season ??
Is he just an absent owner and let's BG make all decisions on all aspects of the team?
I'm curious of how he wanted to see the Wild approach the post All-Star break and whether he wanted PO's for the pride and $$, Or Did he want a better pick? -

I’m not unhappy with this. The Wild need to be embarrassed. They didn’t even show up. Don’t give me all this BS about how prideful these guys are. They have no pride. They are all fat and happy with their NMC’s and inflated contracts and are just going through the motions so they can get to their early tee times.
They already embarrassed themselves by the time the were down 5-2. VGK could've just controlled the puck and ate up time. No respect to their former team mate and just upped stats.

Unfortunately for us I don’t think the Wild could possibly play bad enough to lose to the Sharks.
Picking out of the top 10 again.
Wally could have a game like his 1st.
Short sample period on him. But yeah, We really shouldn't lose this one.- 2

See you tomorrow night for interest in Wallstedt starting again.

Classless VGK still trying to score with less than 1 minute left.
Glad Fleury laft the ice as quick as he did. -
If we had a healthy Foligno and some others with balls, There'd be some 'activities' for running up the score.

Ok, VGK classless running up the score. No point and no respect for Fleury.
I hope they go out in 4 games in the PO's- 1

1:6 score now. Very sad game for Fleury as well as for us (fans). Entire season we(fans) talked to place 4 and more goals per game in opponents net. And the team was not capable to do this. Because we do not have enough snipers.
Can't snipe when you're passing opportunities.

So many times in the last few weeks we leave opposing players open close to the net.

For once some classy VGK fans doing the Fleury chant.

I am glad that Khusnutdinov placed his 1st goal this season. Some fans predicted his 1st one in 2026. And he is a visible player during the game. Not impressed so far about Ohgren. He should take a nice example from Rossi about summer training. Rossi progressed a lot just after one entire summer of training. 2 different levels of hockey NHL and AHL. He did well in AHL, but not previously in NHL.
So far score is 1:5. Time for Fleury to rest.
Lol...Give Ohgren a break...1st NHL game.
Kap could probably score 50 goals if it wasn't for our system.- 1

I think the #mnwild's car should be running on at least one donut. Got to love that lame Marcus Johansson penalty eh? Also, Matt Boldy drops his stick a lot.
No reason to be frustrated and take a stupid penalty at this point.

Not the best game for Fleury against his former team. 4 goals on 12 shots in his net. We placed 18 shots already during 2 periods, but have only one lonely goal in opponent's net. We need more.
First 3 goals were nasty, Off our mistakes. But definitely not how he wanted to show in Vegas.

We sat Freddie tonight, Next should be Mojo.
Didn't realize he and Zuch took personal time off, But still, Time to give ice time to the young guns.

players like Gadreau and Johansson haven’t scored all season, Hartman and Foligno has been inconsistent, Filip Gustavson was a sieve, and 75% of the defense are AHLers. That’s why they didn’t make the Playoffs.
In a nutshell. ... Foligno has a bit of an excuse with that core injury that probably aggrevated the more he played. Probably also explains why there wasn't any fights from him late in the season.
Gus maybe felt the pressure of the new contract along with the post contract hangover. Nothing to play for in a way, Feeling pretty secure $$ wise leads to complacency.

Right there...Another chance to shoot from dead center and we pass. That's frustrating and seen it all season.
