Ersson is not looking good esp the 3rd goal...softest one I've seen all year from him I think. 1st one wasn't good either. Flyers are getting thoroughly outplayed so far. 3-0 halfway thru the 1st.. now another b.s. penalty - first one - holding in the scrum at the net - was imaginary. This one TB just stumbles on his own. The Bolts don't need any help. edit: What the hell? A TEN for THAT??? You gotta be fkng kidding me edit: Ersson gets the hook... more penalties...Tortorella bench minor - thrown out of the game...unreal.

sucks indeed... Plus one is brand new, another is just getting used to the NHL and another is Staal ... against TB who can light up even good defenses.

So you truly think Jones/Briere are presiding over another "just make the POs" pipe-dream this year? You really think that? I am not suggesting they've done no wrong or that it's all been a beautiful thing. But to see no difference between the Holmgren years and what Briere is doing ...?

But it wasn't "thrown away" and Eric Johnson is not a "washed up bum." He's just not. Whatever you think of the plan - the rebuild or whatever - adding a D-man, which the Flyers truly need right now with all the injuries on the back end - for 18 frikkn games, 18 + the POs - c'mon is that really throwing a monkey wrench into the plan?

I can't argue that one... I happen to love Seeler's game - I'm sure you appreciate it too - and so I'm not bummed out that he'll be part of the future. But extending him was - borderline - is the way I'd say it. It leans towards "okay" for me because I put a lot of weight on the intangible stuff - some you see on the ice others you hear about. I think Seeler is an outstanding role model and even with the new AAV he's a bargain for what you get imho. the less said about that the better !

The rebuild is working just fine. How does an 18-game rental blow up the plan? I understand you don't like "the plan" at all and that's fair. We're all armchair GMs we all have different ideas. But again, a D-man - which the Flyers desperately need ASAP - for a 4R who's a UFA after the season ends. How does this hurt anything? now if they re-sign him in the off-season...it could get ugly around here lol!

Unfortunately the Flyers' D is full of injuries - Staal will prob get 15+ a night for awhile. I can't cry about losing a 4R pick for a decent D-man. I always liked EJ when he was with the AVs I thought he played an honest game and he racked up some points. Those days are long gone but the Flyers needed a warm body for the back end. I know some will hate this move. Losing a pick for an old guy. I get that. And the ones who don't like the deal prob figure if the Flyers miss the POs so be it. Me I think a PO series will be great for this roster; not only do they deserve it after the year they put in, but it can only help the younger guys mature. The game may be the same but the intensity, the whole experience is a different animal in the post-season.

Thanks for the video I forgot all about that game... a good one to forget... one of the Flyers' worst of the season. Hart and the PK gave up 3 PP goals - maybe the only time this year they gave up 3 - lose 5-2 in Ottawa. Is it worth saving less than $1mil to replace ND? At 33 he's the same bruiser / brawler since he's been forever. Kastelic is a lot younger (24) though and he looks like he can hold his mud.

TB just added another steamroller to their lineup. Anthony Duclair is now a Bolt and he is one speedy mother... I always liked him he always impressed me as a slippery, creative winger. If he was 24 instead of 28 I would've liked to see him with the Flyers I think his speed would work well with any of the lines.

I see in 4 years with the Sens he went from $821K to $835K AAV. Doesn't exactly scream "impact player..."

haha! Well now they have Daws trying to win games and he did play well against the Flyers in the stadium game. But he may another one where the name is his best attribute. Couldn't agree more. I know he's big and he can skate but I was never sold on Hamilton. I always thought Nurse would've been a good fit for the Flyers...

What do mean by "additional?" - you mean b/c the Preds retained half last year? And so the Flyers could retain some and trade him? Ugh I hope it doesn't come to that - doesn't Phoenix always need to make the cap floor? @pilldoc @radoran for sure the Devils had more than their share of injuries - and no question they had goaltending issues all year - still do. But with all that talent...and there is a ton of talented players on that roster right now - it just never gelled or got going... Ruff is heckuva good coach but even he couldn't make it work.

without a doubt. not bad for a 7R pick. Good point! He's gotta be doing something right. Of the callups this year none have looked out of place, lost or overwhelmed. Tortorella said recently he and Lappy rarely talk since they're both so busy with their own teams. But the pipeline seems to be working pretty well between the clubs.

Yes and it would be a real boost to the team's psyche if they could take both in Florida. I don't remember the last time that happened - if ever. TB has had the Flyers' number forever it seems but the Flyers are playing real good hockey these days. Whatever happens at the TD today...I expect the Flyers will bring the same effort/energy they had in Sunrise. Good to see Center Ice will have the Flyers' feed available this time.

man this Flyers' team is really something special. To go down to Sunrise and beat the hottest team in the league - with all the missing D, TK's first game back, great game by Ersson ... Tarasenko nearly ties it but Ersson makes one of his best saves off that late FO... the refs sure "let them play" tonight ... nice to see in a way ...it's been so long I forgot how great the NHL used to be when they didn't call every ticktack hold, grab etc. edit: should've mentioned the 2 callups on the back end - Ginning and Attard both played extremely well from what I could see. Some great hits, no bad TOs... good work.

@radoran Kimmo and Pronger weren’t all that far off of Seeler…then again I haven’t looked at Seeler’s total lately. Anyway I hear ya there’s a difference… I guess the only value I see in Seeler that perhaps you don’t is the old intangibles…i know they’re easy to make fun of…and of course the Flyers will survive and continue to grow w/out him. But everything I hear tells me he’s been a big part - a big reason- for the attitude adjustment amongst the roster this year. Not saying keep him at whatever cost…hardly….but his leadership, the way he plays should be factored in that’s all.
