  1. You're reading comprehension isnt adding up. Nothing in my post said anything about "boys will be boys". I never said I was laughing at stories, I said I was laughing at grown men getting so mad about these stories that they then project their anger toward a young man...who may or may not be guilty of anything at all. As an adult, I'm embarrassed for these "men". Here's some athletes whose professional careers were destroyed by false allegations: https://www.cbsnews.com/news/report-brian-banks-privilege-stanford-rape-case-brock-turner/ https://www.forbes.com/sites/karlynborysenko/2020/02/12/the-dark-side-of-metoo-what-happens-when-men-are-falsely-accused/ https://medium.com/false-allegations-wrongful-convictions/the-perils-of-falsely-reporting-allegations-of-sexual-assault-to-the-police-cc15f510a6be
  2. It is odd and disturbing how many posters here, presumably men, are already projecting Hart guilty of any and all charges. This only reinforces my point that when a man is charged w sexual assault it does severe damage regardless of trial outcome. And this has already ruined 1 professional career (that we know of) but I'm sure many more. Anyhow, I'll wait till the hearing plays out before making accusations. The only information available right now are just stories because nobody really knows anything yet. And reading grown men get emotional and angry about stories is a good laugh
  3. Whole thing is nuts. Todd Bertuzzi paralyzed a guy and never did time. Carter, and the other players, are stil involved in a sexual assault case in 2024 from 2018 - its wild. Especially considering the Ontario police cleared Hart. . . . .
  4. For some reason you want to ignore available information and bury Hart without due process. Its honestly strange
  5. I'm not familiar w Canadian law. It is almost ALWAYS the case in the U.S. that criminal charges are filed well before personal settlements. Its strange seeing it done differently.
  6. It explains why I'm not presuming guilt. Let the courts decide.
  7. Your opinion is your opinion. It does not mean what the OP said wasnt true. Once sexual allegations are made against men - whether founded or unfounded - they experience negative consequences. That is indisputable. As far as defamation...what? NHL players are millionaires. There's nothing to gain in filing a lawsuit that will take YEARS to resolve against someone who is not a public figure or millionaire themselves. That's some strawman stuff
  8. All context has to be taken into consideration. I was involved in a rape investigation once albeit not directly. A friend of mine was accused of rape and I was with him and the girl the night of the incident. I was not with them st the time when the rape reportedly occurred. I gave a statement reflecting my observations which was that the girl was all over him - because she was. I dont know if things evolved to rape and I never will know. The friend was pretty much ostracized by any woman for being a rapist even after charges were dropped. I witnessed his life sink into alcoholism and lonerism. It was ****ed up. The woman involved filed charges less than 24h after incident and dropped charges less than 7 days later. But it was enough time to alter a lifetime. I dont know what happened to Carter Hart, any of his teammates, or the woman involved. It just reminds me of the time I had to provide a statement. Its entirely possibe everything sexual was completely consensual. Its also entirely possible this was rape like the Duke lacrosse team. It is VERY odd - and perhaps even alarming - that the rape wasnt reported until these guys became famous millionaires. To ignore the obvious motivation is downright negligent and naieve. Hoping for a good outcome for all involved.
  9. This is clearly the case here, too. Just look at @mkscrewy comments..."he can go to jail like the rest of them". Implications are already that he's guilty. Let me be clear since youre having trouble rationing. Carter Hart, and 4 other players, are being accused of sexual assault. As of today, Carter is NOT guilty of anything so he is not like "the rest of them" because he is not a proven rapist or sexual assaulter. It may come to light that what Carter did was reprehensible and in such case you can refer to him as a criminal...like you already have. It may also come to light that Carter and perhaps all of the players are innocent. Perhaps the woman involved waited years to report the event because now a lawsuit carries significant financial gain. We'll see what the court finds, but I won't be calling for Hart to be thrown in jail "like the rest of them" until the trial ends. Wrongful accusations DO happen. People lie. Money complicates things.
  10. Teams absolutely cut ties with players over stuff like this. Antonio Brown, arguably #1 NFL WR, cant even get a job over his legal and mental health issues. Colin Kaepernick, Top 10ish QB, cant get a job over his public awareness campaign. For a brief period of time nobody wanted to even look in Evander Kane's direction. These are all star players. What happens in public absolutely effects employment w any (and sometimes EVERY) team. It is 2024 now. Even if Hart is. mercilessly guilty for events in 2018, how should he be held accountable? The courts will do what they do but the league will have a PR stance too. Again, my issue is with how much time has passed. It comes off like a cash-grab, big time.
  11. Lmao Jesus. I was not aware but holy moly XD However, I doubt its just NHL. All those sport leagues gotta be doing the same
  12. Thank you for the information. Before we CANCEL HART...he's been charged with wrongdoing. Let's allow court system to determine whether or not he's guilty of anything. Don't put the cart before the horse.
  13. I'm glad you acknowledged it was a STORY because that's all that it is right now - a STORY. If it was so horrific why has nobody been arrested or incarcerated? And this HORRIFIC incident happened 6-7 yrs ago...that's a LONG time for no criminal charges to come to light. A very long time.
  14. How would I have seen the video? The issue is why we're talking about this in 2024 and not in 2018 or 2019 or 2020 or 2021...and so on. The reality is nobody but those involved know what happened, but it is certainly convenient to state it was rape when those involved are assumedly rich. I am not saying it wasnt rape or it wasnt a crime...just pointing out the convenience of the timeline.
  15. I mean does anyone see how silly this is? Talking about how we hope Carter Hart wasnt involve in *alleged* sexual misconduct...from 2018...in 2024. And Canadian police pressed zero criminal charges. And this alleged incident happened when he was 18 years old... What a load
  16. Its really that simple. You don't go 1-6 down the stretch against non-playoff teams with runner MVP from last season, a top 5 WR w a top 5 1-2 WR tandem in the league, an experienced and competent O-line, and an elite TE. Sirianni looks like a high school coach out there...and, love him or hate him, the greatest coach in NFL history is a FA...Eagles should be looking his way cause we already have the tools, just need the system/scheme.
  17. Happens to every coach...AV, Lavi, Berube, Hitchcock, and Torts. Every good coach has that escalation and improvement until they plateau. To me its like working out and lifting...a program is successful and gets results but inevitably will plateau. Gotta do that p90x muscle confusion stuff
  18. Gonna be tough to move Risto and that contract, but he's at least being used better...
  19. Okay, okay yall are right. Wont even give him the time since clearly that's what he craves, but Lord is he dense in the head
  20. ...does this kid have CTE? Chuck didnt send LeClair and Sharp to meet him...and it wasnt Chuck's texts and calls he was ignoring... Is that literally what the kid's blaming?? This is short bus level stuff *i mean no disrespect to people who take the short bus, currently or formerly.
  21. Jamie's parents were in attendance too...and they appeared to just be enjoying the game. No gaslighting or whining or intentionally avoiding, ya know, normal interactions. Praise be
  22. Ya my point wasnt about Cutter. He's never played an NHL game snd even before playing his 1st game he looks like a headcase - great move by Danny B and company. My original point is that hockey in Philly isnt what it once was. The game has suffered tremendously in this city although - again - Danny B and company have taken the right steps to help, but for now NHL remains a niche sport in this city. And that's supported by how management treated Giroux and any free agents that actually WANT to come here...apparently Chucky never even talked to Gaudreau...are you kidding me? Danny B and Keith are doing a great job and even though I cant stand Hexy the arena upgrades have been amazing. And the team is playing like a team...something they havent been doing for at least 5 years. So I think hockey will make a comeback in this market..fingers crossed !
  23. When was the last time a big FA signed here? Tavares didnt even consider Philly. Gadreau was reportedly interested in Philly but we'll never know how much of that was media-driven (and turned out to be okay for Phila anyway), Krug didnt want to come here, and now Cutter didnt want to come here. There are other examples of players specifically avoiding Phila...these are just recent ones. Try to be constructive in the future
  24. Isnt that exactly what the Flyers did past 10-20 years? Sure they had some fun playoff trips circa Richards and Carter and Giroux, but those teams were missing talent pieces. Come to think of it, 2010 Flyers win if you swap Kane w JVR XD XD XD Our best draft pick of the past 20 years was Sean Cotourier (excluding Gauthier and Michkov since they havent played a game yet). He is a fine player and a great asset at #8, but there have been multiple generational talents and top line assets available in the same time frame. So instead of Flyguys finishing in the middle of the pack or just missing the playoffs...by all means, TANK. What kills me is the Flyers have been horrible the past few years and STILL - despite the abundance of news suggesting Bedard and Fantilli were going to be game changers - refused to TANK. We ended up getting the 2nd best talent in Michkov but there are legitimate concerns that he may never come to Phila or U.S. Tanking is fine if its done when they team, at its best, is already terrible. The NHL is a joke though and it uses a scandalous "system" that "randomizes" the lottery. It just so happens the 1-2 winners of the lottery are almost always a major market (except NJ)...and its always a recording and not LIVE. Lots of reasons I dont follow NHL like I used to but the corruption and utter ignorance in F.O. of Flyguys has been offputting...especially when they were INCREASING ticket prices for an abomination of a team
