  1. So true. The inconsistencies seem like they're just spinning different wheels of justice depending on the level of "stardom" a player has. George Parros has shown he is absolutely not the right person to be director of this department. It's well past time for him to be replaced.
  2. The one cost is it's another roster spot(23/23) taken by a player that's shown to not be capable of playing hockey at a pro level.
  3. Yes. My apologies. Wasn't addressing the false hope comment towards you. But, instead, more towards the responses in the thread that are happy and hopeful with the claim. Sorry. My bad. I should have been more concise about that.
  4. Was absolutely invisible in his 10:37 of ice time, and won 69.2% of his draws against the team that's now 3rd to last in the league in draws...
  5. Yes. Nope. And the system that a very good team and program were using at Boston U. Or the system that a very good team was using at Bridgeport. Again, it's great to have hope. But, when there are clear facts available, hope won't suddenly change that. And, yes, when this organization realizes he's the bust he is, they can just place him on waivers again(which he'll clear) and send him to Lehigh. He's proven often since 2016 that evaluation doesn't relate when it comes to Bellows in professional hockey, or even NCAA hockey. He was very good at the USHL/USD and the WHL levels. Unfortunately, that skill hasn't followed him to the AHL or NHL. Yes, would love to see him suddenly change and be a player that can actually produce at the NHL level. But, holding out on false hope that's been proven to be false usually only turns out to be futile.
  6. Poor decision by Maurice to call his timeout there... BIG help to the Flyers.
  7. Smart player though. DeAngelo isn't the most intelligent player on the ice, as he already showed with his absolutely stupid roughing penalty earlier. It certainly won't be his last. Hornqvist knew exactly what he was doing with that extra little swat at Hart's glove hand.
  8. Eric Staal showing he can still win faceoffs. Seems to be about all he's good for as he's been pretty invisible otherwise. Of course, it's against the worst team in the league in faceoff %, and you don't need to move your feet when taking draws.
  9. Won't be long before Knight takes the starter role from Bob on this Florida team.
  10. No. He was awful, at Boston. Awful at Bridgeport. And awful on the Isles. One dimensional means he provided something in his game. Bellows is a bust at the pro level. Nothing too soon to conclude about that. These soft goals by Hart must stop. Two terrible goals given up that both fall to poor technique. Which points to poor teaching.
  11. Another crazy contract for a guy in Norris that makes you wonder if Pierre Dorion is just another Chuck Fletcher in drag. The team has a bit of young talent. But, they aren't going very far if they have a GM that continues to overpay that talented youth only on the hopes that they earn the contracts in the future. 8 mil AAV for Thomas Chabot? Lmao...
  12. I hear what you're saying and hear what you're hoping to be true. But, it's simply not reality. There's absolutely nothing in the CBA that would cause a union grievance to "force" any NHL team to open up and be honest with media and fans. Again, maybe it could "cause"(a much different situation than "force") an organization with a front office, that doesn't have the egos among it that the Flyers organization has, to release more information regarding what's going on behind closed doors. Unfortunately, that's just not reality when it comes to this organization's front office. A grievance might cause a situation where a major overhaul could occur. But, again, you're assuming there's malpractice and mismanagement here simply because of what's being reported by the media. It's not difficult to understand this and to understand that it's possible that what's going on behind closed doors is exactly why a grievance isn't warranted and isn't being filed. Injuries happen in sports. The amount of money in salaries that they happen to has absolute no relevance to any discussion of whether a union grievance is warranted or not. Again, I'm not saying either way if a grievance is warranted or not. Simply because the only information is the propaganda and lies that are being given to the media. Are there red flags? Sure. But, those are red flags because it is lies and propaganda. And, it's not like this is suddenly a new situation that's risen regarding this organization. Aside from all of that, even if a grievance were filed regarding this organization, I doubt we'd hear anything more about it other than it being filed. There's simply nothing in the CBA to "force" the truth to be released to the media and fans.
  13. The problem is, back on what track? The track he was on at the WHL level? The USHL/USD level? He was awful at Boston U(a very good team and program). He was awful in his AHL games. And, he was awful in his few NHL games. He's simply another player added to the roster that can't play hockey at a professional level. And, like you said, for anyone believing that coaching like Lappy's or Tortorella's will suddenly turn a player like this into a professional hockey league producer only shows the severe delusion that exists.
  14. It's just more of the lies and propaganda... https://www.nbcsports.com/philadelphia/flyers/sean-couturiers-back-injury-takes-him-ice-flyers-center-ways-away Wondering if Tippett will be the next concussion sufferer put back into the lineup too soon tonight. And, to top it off, they claim another "player"(absolute first round bust) that's not even capable of playing at an AHL level, let alone the NHL level. https://www.nbcsports.com/philadelphia/flyers/flyers-claim-islanders-kieffer-bellows-nhl-waivers
  15. Saw him play about 10 games at State during his 3 seasons there. Seems to see the ice well, and has very good passing talent in his hands. He'll never be a big producer at the AHL level. But, it will be hard to look worse than some there like Wisdom or Ratcliffe. They both have looked awful. Hard to find a player as big as Ratcliffe that is as much of a wuss as he is, or one that can consistently become invisible on the ice. What a terrible pick he was.
  16. The circus act in full effect before Halloween even gets here... Not surprised in the slightest. DeAngelo should have been sitting right next to both of them for the period.
  17. And with Florida losing a close game tonight. They worked hard to get it to 4-3, but couldn't finish the comeback. Will finally be a true test for the Flyers. The Nashville game included.
  18. Many of the complaints about these virtual ads are just ridiculous. Complaints like those from the purists that hockey boards aren't pristine white and have puck marks on them, so these ads just don't look right. Once the motion blur is worked out, "looks" like this pixelation won't be an issue. As I've said before, any type of advertisement that doesn't interrupt gameplay, and keeps the sport from becoming the NFL, NBA or MLB where the number of commercial breaks are concerned are absolutely fine with me. If that's virtual ads on the boards(should have been used back in 2015 when Bettman said they would never happen), ads on jerseys(these ridiculous purists crying about defacing jerseys can go fu@& themselves when they realize how many 2 minute commercial breaks would need to be added to game telecasts to generate 100+ million dollars of revenue for EVERY TEAM in the league), 15 second split screen ads during icing stopages that aren't interrupting gameplay, not going away for another 2 minute commercial break, giving teams breaks that they shouldn't be getting in this sport and interrupting the momentum and flow of this sport that is very important. Maybe these purists simply just don't realize the revenue that these advertising plans are generating. Or realize there are a number of franchises that badly need this boost in revenue. This only means it's a good thing for the league. And, if it keeps the number of 2 minute commercial breaks down in the sport, it's only a good thing for fans(at live games or watching telecasts).
  19. No reports needed. He's still on his PTO status and hasn't even been given a contract. He won't be able to appear in a regular season game unless that happens. No reports necessary. He simply needs to retire.
  20. Don't have any doubt that the truth in this matter is coming from McCrossin and not the other side. And, it's simply more proof of the circus act that Tortorella is. Said it wouldn't take much longer than Halloween for it to start. And, it's not surprising in the least that it's started before that. Just adds to the creation of him as the scapegoat and the reasoning why he'll eventually be fired sooner rather than later.
  21. This isn't a Flyers exclusive. Each team has games on their schedules this season that are exclusively on ESPN+ and Hulu. The question could be asked, why the opener. But it's against Jersey. And, as I said, there are always live links available for games.
  22. Written on Sept. 9th. Before Staal played in 4 preseason games for them, providing almost nothing to them in about 14 mins ATOI. Winning 9 of 35 draws. No points with 8 shots. What Ganzi did get just about right in the article: "However, getting him a new deal might be a bit of trouble, considering the Panthers are currently over 3.3 million over the cap."(3.27 to be accurate)
