It's funny, Torts' post-gamer sounded like a guy who was upset with execution and penalties.  He even made it clear that the thinking should be on the coming game with Chicago.  Tactically, that makes sense--you put a loss behind you and move on.  But if I am Danny Briere, this game said a lot about my squad and its talent. Torts has done a great job with the clay he can mold. But we need help.

I was also thinking about fate and the consequences of past choices.  Think back to June, 2017.  The Devils take Hischier.  And we take Nolan Patrick:

Sorry for opening up old wounds,  But seeing Hischier on post-game interviews made me reflect on our talent shortfall.

He is gone. I think the Flyers are moving forward with the idea they will need to replace him.

    If they don't? Bonus.

I'd say the only path is complete exoneration, which seems increasingly unlikely.

That said, Billy Tibbets played for three NHL teams - including the Flyers...

And if I remember correctly, he wasn't allowed to enter Canada with the team.

Spoke earlier about the changing of the guard. New folks running the show. The drafting of MM and the trading of an entitled 19 yr old speaks to me.

The team has no quit and is fun to watch. The future? Who knows but I’m good for now.

Somehow, someway we need to get MM over here, not sure how that is going to be done.

I guess I stand corrected, kind of.  NHL just rated defenseman and Pietro is #9

Pietro is obviously a true #1 but I dont know if that alone makes him a stud defenseman...as in, a player that defines the position.  As you mentioned, the league has placed a premium on scoring and NHL has Makar and Fox #1 and #2.

I can't believe that Risto didn't make the list!  🤣

  5. Back in '74 I remember a team which could not win a game at Boston Gardens, but yet they won one

and won all their home games to win the cup!! All they have to do is win one game at MSG and all the

ones at home. I think that they can win at MSG. The playoffs are a different animal all together!!
