  1. a follow up. I was a firghter/emt and did ALLOT of time in the emergency trauma room. You can take off a neck brace after xrays show its ok. That DOES not mean you are not suffering other injuries. Head issues for one. So lets say he had a few (3-4) years of call up duty at 550K, he should get that as compensation and a wee bit of life long compensation for medical and such... I had a severe chemical burn to my lungs as a fire fighter 25 years ago. I was in the hospital. They released me and said all was fine. 25 years later I have breathing problems and asthma. Just think out side the box on other peoples problems is all I'm saying. It's not always what you expect.

  2. This. Moore suing for 60 million is a bit laughable. He was a cup of coffee call up, never projected or expected to earn much more than league minimum in any season, or play in the NHL for any real length of time. If he got 3 full seasons in, most would have been surprised, and he was never going to be good enough to be above league minimum. He was a marginal AHL 3rd liner.

Even the Avs pretty much jumped ship on him because they knew it was a cash grab as soon as that phone video of him taking off the neck brace as soon as he was out of sight of the cameras surfaced. His lawyers somehow got all traces of those videos removed from the internet. None of the Avs really talk about Moore in a positive light.

So while I sympathise with him on some level, I think if he won even 3 million he would make more than he would have in his NHL career. He realized this and went for the cash grab.

He is still has the right to damages, however meager. If someone clipped you with a car you would be. I don't care if you lost 10K or 60 million, your entitled to that. Never mind if it was on purpose or not.

If fraud is involved then a prosecutor should tell him to back off, or at least his own lawyer.

  3. I for one do not believe there will be a new perspective until Snider is out of the picture.

Come on, be positive. You gotta be or you will drink yourself to death on any issue. Snider wants a cup before he dies (and the days dwindle down) . The best option is for hexy to take the GM spot, Homer to take over the scouting (which if you look at his record of unsigned and amateur talent is quit good) and run with some speedy youth (mix to be determined) . Snider is smart enough to know that. The evidence is that that the Flyers didn't make any radical moves and did work with the youth... Patience.

  4. IMHO , Homlgren will receive the credit he is due, in time. Some bad moves but some great to. But it's time to move to Hexy. But just remember, Hexy will be building upon a foundation Homer built. All is not lost, not even by a long shot. In a few years we may be talking about Morin, Hagg, Akeson, ect.... That's on Homer. Just remember that when the time comes.

Besides, look at the Canucks and even the Penguins might crap out, and never mind SJ... I'll take Homer over those GM's any day.

And one other thought, look what LA just did. That's got Hexy's finger print all over it...

  5. Well, that was one hell of a post PILL. Can't say I disagree on much of any of it, if at all. I just think we need to play the kids more next year. I'm NOT talking about a rebuild, just get youth and speed, especially on the Blue Line. The ONLY way we can get Vanek is if we can get someone (anyone) to take either Harts or VLC's contract from us, which is a pipe dream.. Yes, it is time for Hexy to take over. Good post.

  6.  Laughton and Ghost were two good prospects. We stunk last year and didn't trade our picks so we doubled our pool in one draft with the addition of Morin and Hagg. Laughton is ranked 23rd Morin 38th in the Top 50 NHL prospects by Hockeys Future.

Laughton was named in 7 different categories in the OHL coaches poll, tops in the league. He was voted top player for both faceoffs and penalty kill in the Eastern Conference, voted 2nd in smartest player, best shot, most dangerous in goal area and best defensive forward and 3rd in hardest shot.

So you also agree we are not empty on the farm team. ?

  7. It's a shame. I always figure hockey players are kinda more upstanding than those of NFL or NBA. We don't hear things like this often from the NHL. Just goes to show visas can effect anyone anywhere. I just hope he does his time and punishment (and loses some weight) and comes back and maybe even talks to kids about keeping track of where your life is headed...

  8. Come on man, Columbus is in the Northeast Metro area! Oh, wait .... They should have named the Atlantic the Gulf of Mexico Division because Tampa is in it and put Dallas in the division as the next closest team to the gulf. We could have even carved out a "Hurricane Alley" Division Starting with Carolina. And of coarse, there could have been the "Hell No, It's to Cold, Don't want to go " Division with the Wild, Oilers, Flames....

  9. Good lord! I can only sympathize. I spent TWO WEEKS ridding my computer of the male ware/ popups. It crippled my computer. You load a site just to see an article and it loads up a program that allows pop up advertising. I can't speak for your issue but I have three programs to search for which are bad and then you delete to fix it. It might very well not be your problem but you will know one way or another if its a problem on your system. Let me know if you want the info and what the "tab" says when the pop up happens....

  10. This may be an odd question/statement but leaders call out the team when they fail?  So, maybe Mason is picking up some leadership duties. So long as he isn't naming individual players in public and also takes responsibily when he fails I'm OK with it. Besides, we/they won the game...
