i was wondering the same thing and i was thinking (purely theorizing, of course) that if Homer drives up Suter's price, he also in effect drives Carle's price out of range, which then lets him let Carle go saying, "well we wanted him but he wanted too much money. it's not our fault we couldn't keep him." which then leaves more $$$ and the door open to go all or nothing for Weber next year with Timmo off the books on that contract. just a wild guess.

I gotta say I don't begrudge Carter or richie for winning the cup with the kings. But what I am bitter over is the relative health in which they enjoyed this post season that never seemed to happen when they were with us. Richie was always skating with decimated shoulders or a sprained wrist come playoff time. Carter was always busy trying to break bones in his feet. If we could have had a healthy streak like the Kings did who knows... I don't know who to direct this bitterness at... The hockey gods? Bad luck? What gives **********? In two rounds we probably had more injured guys than LA did in four. It has to even out for us at some point, right? Right????

I wonder how many of us would still be laboring over the vagaries and intangibles of those trades had Carter and Richards not been part of a team that won the Cup. I think that last part of the sentence is the most important part. They were far from the two biggest reasons the Kings won, but they were integral parts to a whole. Reinsert them back on the Flyers and you couldn't even pretend to guess we'd have a similar result here

bad way to lose a game. what a statement for the pens when it should have been the other way around. tough way to take this one... lose by one or lose by 12 (it's possible in this game, amazingly), it's still one loss. i don't like what it gives the pens to take it to us like this in a potential close-out game. it can get in the Flyers' heads just as easily as they got in the Pens this series. we need to regroup and re-*******-focus.

A win tonight will make the length of those suspensions irrelevant. I'd like to see a complete, professional dismantling type of game a la g5 VS Montreal in 2010. this should be where the story ends for the pens in 2012.

agree. Neal's suspension should have been more. However, the flyers have the ability to amend his 1-gamer to "for the remainder of the season." let's hope they make that happen.

Wednesday we should be totally focused on winning the game. Neal, Asham, Adams, Crosby, Malkin, Orpik will have to hold off until next fall for the retribution and overflowing waves of blood they so richly deserve.
