    Kasparaitis...always hated him.....

  2. Couturier played in 58 QMJHL games plus 10 playoff games, plus the WJHC tournament (where he was the only undrafted Canadian) top prospects game, allstar etc. Yes, he may find it tougher than what he's used to, but it's not like he's coming out of a 30 game league. He's definately made the transition about as smoothly as one could ask.

I didn't realize how many games they play in juniors...my bad

  3. KId is tearing it up right now!! Any worry that he will run out of gas with the long NHL season?

I would probably expect it. Not a knock on him. just the fact that an NHL season is long and brutal.

But i will all..the kid is gonna be super.

  4. @pilldoc C'mon....dont' judge me...I found about that a lot later...imagine the irony...I hated the guy because he beat Canada and Lindros in 1994...but also got Lindros to the Flyers, and he was so good that he won the Stanley Cup(s)....Do you think the Flyers would have won the cup if they didnt make that trade? Actually...will start a thread on this topic...really want to know what you guys think

that is a real good question. I don't know. Like they said hindsight is always 20/20. Lindros was touted as "The Next Great One"

At first he really did dominate games. Then the because of his style of play...injuries started to take away from him. Remember the Flyers sold the house to get him. Hextall was part of that package too.

Maybe we would have gotten a cup or two with Forsberg instead of Lindros. The big one was the pasing up of Brodeur. If the Flyers would have drafted him..yeah then with a combo of Forsberg and Brodeur...yeah I say at 1 maybe 2 cups.

    Good debate question.

  5. im not gonna call it a lock down loss...but as many have mentioned before me...the Flyers always play down to the competition. Look what happen vs. MTL a few games ago. MTL had a healthy losing streak going and the Flyers allowed them to put a 5 spot on us. Same with Winnipeg. That team does not exactly strike fear in me and look what happend.

Hopefully JVR is out of Lavy's doghouse and gives it a full effort. Plus if Wellwood did get called up...I love the kids energy.

  6. well that is at least some good news.

as we were discussing last night during the game.....it is so blatantly obviously how much Prongs means to the defense. And matter of fact how much he means to the PP.

Columbus is one of those teams you just have to beat. Too bad we are going to miss Mr. Jeff "High and Wide of the net" Carter. :)

  7. I caught Lavy's presser and he said "Wayne had showed some good stuff in camp, had some success" - something like that. He was asked if Talbot was considered since he nailed the PS goal and Lavy said "yes he would've been 4th or 5th if we'd gone that deep."

btw - am I the only one who thought Briere definitely stopped? They should've waved off that goal. If Parise had done that I'd be screaming bloody murder... Turns out it didn't matter a bit since Bob still sucks in the SO - 1-5 now - but imho Briere's was not a good goal.

i didn't think you could review shootout goals? nevere thought about it, but yeah ..watching the replay...i thought Briere stopped. I was shocked too that they allowed it, but hey it didn't matter we still suck in shootouts.

  8. Well...first time I heard of the Flyers was in 1994...I watched the Winter Olympics in Lillehamer and No.88 Eric LIndros was the player I liked the most...then I found out that he was playing for the Flyers.

Also, started hating Forsberg at that time because Sweden beat Canada in the finals :)

If you do your homework...you will find out that Forsberg was part of the trade that brought Lindros to Philly. Good to have you aboard! :)

  9. Well, I am surprised! So many have come over! I'll get my avatar loaded up during the Devils game tonight. I'll make a few crusades to Philly.com to bring straglers over and watch Rick having a meltdown! And he is HAVING a meltdown. Then I come here for good hockey talk...

lol..yeah he a Vader and can talk to each other on an empty forum!

  10. How does Rick like a team with a player like this?

I don't give a rats ass what he thinks.....Rick is a basket case. Mentally challenged retard. To think I was actually trying to be nice and help the dude with his drug questions. The dud actually flooded my backup e-mail accout with like 10 messages in a 6 hour period wanting to know why i was not responding to him. LOL

Glad he cannot bother us here
