  1. Did Bob really say that? That's a pretty badass quote, especially if he said it in English. I couldn't agree more with him. Let him play more games and develop into an even better goalie. We know he needs work but he was a rookie last year. Not many goalies come in as a rookie and are stone walls.
  2. Bryz was terrible last night. Couldn't come up with any big saves. Lavi needs to bite the bullet and just put in Bob.
  3. I think if Bryzgalov was more upright and a little further left then he would have definitely had it. He was down too low and it let Callahan put it up high.
  4. I still don't know. Callahan shot that one perfectly. It went straight to the roof of the net.
  5. I'm from Maryland, grew up here my whole life. My location is PA because I go to Penn State but I'm home on break. I life pretty much dead center between Baltimore and Annapolis in a town called Severn, right next to Ft. Meade.
  6. He's also a young guy that I'm sure they'd like to see pan out and give him some confidence. Teams seem to play hard and really defend their home-grown goalies, such as Miller and Brodeur. Bryzgalov came in on a huge contract, talking himself up quite a bit where Sergei is just the quiet hard-working guy. I really really like Bobrovsky and want to see him as the goalie of the future. Also, what part of Maryland are you in?
  7. I didnt' see a lot of replays of it but when you get a quick rebound a goalie can't always react that quickly, and some shots are well-placed. I played hockey for 12 years and I've scored goals from some seemingly impossible angles that just got by in the right places. I would like to see Bob play some more though. The players really do seem like they aren't big fans of Bryz, based on 24/7. They seemed to kind of be making fun of him by going along with his rants. But who knows?
  8. I watched highlights of the game from last night and 3 out of those 4 goals didn't look like Bryz's fault. 2 were great deflections and one was a rebound where the guy was completely uncovered. I'm not super confident with Bryz but some people seem to be hating him when he doesn't have much defensive help and the other team has legitimately good goals, such as on deflections.
  9. I know we're winning with him but his GAA and Save% are pretty bad. I'll take the wins over numbers but still. It's reminding me a bit of Halak. Goes to a different team and is average.
  10. I only caught the second half of the third period. How has he looked recently? I haven't really had time to watch the games lately.
  11. He's on pace for 114 points this year. Ridiculous. He reminds me so much of Peter Forsberg.
  12. It did seem like a bit much but I hate that a player has to stop because the goalie beats him to the puck or you get a goalie interference because he's out of the crease and you run him over. They should stay in the crease if they want to avoid contact. Lucic definitely put in the extra effort.
  13. Have you guys seen his numbers lately? 20 points in 15 games. He seems to be breaking out extremely well. Hall only has 10 points compared to him. It'll be interesting to see how they pan out against each other.
  14. But last time John Stevens was baking them brownies and cookies and cakes so they got fat and lazy.
  15. That was ugly. If anything give him a shove and drop the gloves. You don't slash a guy in the ribs like you're swinging a baseball bat.
  16. Jesus. How about that swing from Miller afterwards? That could have been a terrible injury. I agree that if a goalie comes out of the crease, he's fair game. Why not? If you're going to enter the play, you should be fair. They only places they should be protected is in the crease and the trapezoid.
  17. How about you guys read this before you make all your assumptions and since nobody has talked and we don't know what was said or who knew what, why don't we reserve our judgements instead of buying into all the judgement? http://thatlawyerdude.blogspot.com/2011/11/strong-defense-of-joe-paterno-why.html Joe Paterno did nothing wrong. He may not have been 100% right, but he wasn't wrong, so he shouldn't be punished. Let it play out and let him speak first. Reading the Grand Jury Report will also help clarify a little bit. I'm not looking for an argument but as a current Penn State student, it has been really crazy here and I'm sick of the media and everyone pointing fingers at Joe Paterno and trashing our university because one man was a sicko.
  18. I agree with both of you. I just know Ken's name was coming up a lot in talks of being the coach again for Columbus. The Blues have shown a lot of promise, especially with last year's start. Hopefully Hitchcock can turn them around again. I had no clue they made the playoffs 25 years in a row. Also that CBJ stat about a goal against on the first 4 shots in every game is incredible.
  19. I'm on my phone so I don't have the link but the Blues just fired their coach and have hired Ken Hitchcock. Should be interesting. Wonder what that means for the Blue Jackets?
  20. How does Rick like a team with a player like this?
