  1. AndyS, back to Hockey Forums, We Welcome You! Cindy to the injured list, We Welcome You. Jeff Frosted Tips Carter, to the 1000 NHL game club, We Welcome You!
  2. I feel like it was Bertmega but I could be waaaay off on that.
  3. Welcome back to the most upbeat and positive poster from Philly.com we are thrilled you have chosen to rejoin us! On the old Philly board you were like the anti-Rochflyer (the most negative poster ever). Who was it that started the Rochflyer annual negativity awards on the old board?
  4. I do recall at my first Flyers game that I referenced in post #102 above that the guy who invited us was talking about how they were going to have the ceremony in a few days so that fits!
  5. I remember that. I was going to bring it up...but you beat me to it!
  6. I wonder what ever happened to AndyS , JRATT, and Xterra? There was also a guy who's handle was named after a family dog that had died... Update it was Dagwood I think!
  7. He did indeed. He is a regular poster here with the handle Hockeyjunkie
  8. Vader and Tucker and FORSBY perhaps? There was also General Zod who had 1000 different aliases. SYSOPS2 was no picnic either as he let a lot of this stuff happen unabated.
  9. I’m cautiously optimistic and definitely see a difference. Don’t know if he’s THE answer but he’s a major upgrade from Hak.
  10. Today in Flyers history 1984 the Flyers beat the Edmonton Oilers 7-5 to break the Oilers 15 game unbeaten streak to start the season. The Flyers were the youngest team in the league and were led by rookie coach Mike Keenan. They made it all the way to the finals after taking out the Rangers, Islanders, and Nordiques along the way before losing the Cup in 5 games to those same Oilers. An extended clip of highlights from the game can be found here. This extremely exciting game and date are also very personally significant to me as that Sunday night in 1984 was my first ever Flyers game. I had never seen hockey in my life and didn’t know what to expect. Going to that game changed my life forever as I may have never taken an interest in hockey if I hadn’t attended (or if it had been a boring game between 2 bad teams). Sadly 34 years ago on this date we lost Pelle Lindbergh who features prominently in the above video (and ended up winning the Vezina Trophy).
  11. He should have gotten a chance much earlier. Every time I have seen him play he was good and didn't visibly suck. I always felt he was blackballed with the Flyers for some reason.
  12. After games that we attended we used to run back to the car (when you could park on Pattison Ave.) to hear the Pepsi Post Game Show so we could hear Gene Hart call the goals in his awesome way with the Spectrum crowd roaring in the background. It was one of the most perfect sounds I have ever heard in my life.
  13. Last of the Flyers teams with Keith Allen’s fingerprints on them. They were the whole reason I fell in love with hockey and the Flyers and the Flyers have gotten a lot of mileage and money out of me just because of the 1984-1988 teams.
  14. Nobody on this team could even come close to holding a member of the 1985 Flyers jocks and that goes down to depth guys like Lindsay Carson.
  15. Dang, was excited to come home from Squirt hockey practice and watch, but in the words of the great Wick Thayer (Susan Ross foundation Seinfeld) “and now? Not!” It was over during the 10 min drive home! So pathetic! If my season ticket rep called me today and asked me to renew my answer would be
  16. I was at a wedding tonight and had to sell my tickets. Did I miss anything ?
  17. No definitely not me. I waited too long in line after the game to do that. I was drinking Coke Zero orange out of it in fact last night while attempting to watch the Eagles game.
  18. Thanks...was my first game all season...what a dud. The arena renovations are nice but when the product on the ice sucks who cares? It is like a 3 ring circus in there nowadays with all the amenities and special effects and yet there is no atmosphere. The place seemed half empty and the fans are only partially engaged as there is so much other stuff going on, it is to the point of overstimulation. The most entertaining part for me were these 2 twenty something girls next to me (who obviously never watched much hockey) who were trying to figure the game out and making really funny comments. The best part is when we pulled Hart at the end and they are screaming about "where is the goalie ??? He better get his butt back in the net..."What is he doing??? He is going to cost us the game!!! Didn't he notice the play started???"
