    @Poulin20

    Thanks for the write up.

    2010 was such a fun playoff season. I remember that Bruins series thinking damn I can't believe they haven't won a game yet.  These games are so close.

    My Daughter was 5 and had a Flyers sweater I would ask her to wear it on game days that season and the team was 10-1 when she wore it. One of the loses though was to Boston. I wasn't able to talk her into wearing her "Flyin'" shirt on the day of game 6 . The word intransigent is on our family crest...I'm sure that's why Kane scored, didn't matter what Kimmo said.

    That was some fun nostalgia, thanks for sharing.

    Now that she is 15 you can explain to her that she is the cause of our suffering 10 years later.

    and a healthy Poulin.... ugh!

    It was unbelievable how in both The 1985 and 1987 Playoffs he cracked ribs, donned a flak jacket and gave it everything he had, (case in point the 2 man short goal vs Quebec in 1985).  The guy was a warrior and a leader of men.  He epitomized everything I love about those mid 80’s teams, hence my username (Mark Howe was actually my favorite player despite my adoration of the captain).

    Yeah. I'm watching actually lol

    Dang  that old place used to get loud!  It was a dump in certain ways but it was our dump and we loved it.

    That was only my 3rd season being a fan...I was in 5th grade at the time and absolutely worshiped those guys.

  4. 1987 Finals Game 3 - With the Flyers down 2-0 in the series after games in Edmonton they returned to the Spectrum to play a game was emblematic of the series, where they get down early and fight back. This remarkable team never stopped fighting and if Tim Kerr was available the outcome may have been different.

  5. If its Ranger hate you want how about this game from the 1985 playoffs game 1, the first step in a long journey to the Cup Final.  I don’t know about the rest of you who watched that era but I really liked Todd Bergen and was so sad that he left hockey for golf (he couldn’t take the abuse from Iron Mike Keenan).

  6. On this day on 2002 the Flyers traded Kent Manderville for convicted rapist Billy Tibbetts!

    What a banner day that turned to be as he lasted 23 days with the club before being placed on waivers!  Great great times indeed!!

    For those that don't recall the rest of the season, this was the time of the epic Checko meltdown in the playoffs which went hand in hand with the inexplicable 4-1 series loss to Ottawa in the first round.

  7. I attended the Phantoms loss on Wednesday and since the Flyers raided them they are beyond awful to watch.  They need to sign some better career AHLers to help the team win more so that the prospects that are there right now have more experience winning.  Fletch has whiffed on this aspect of the team according to the hardcore Phantoms fans I spoke with at the arena.  The career AHLers he signed have been huge stiffs so far.
