Nice....can you say hair band from the 80's??
1987 to be exact...very appropriate as this was the last time the Flyers had such a good home record. (And I remember it as I used to think they never lost at home when I was younger).- 1

What is that (relatively) new Flyers' goal song? I like it.
New since the beginning of the year. Go to 1:36 to hear the part they play.My brother and I enjoyed hearing it a lot tonight especially as there were a lot of Rangers fans in the house Who had to hear it along with us!

For some reason I feel like Aziz was a NAK fan. Maybe I’m wrong. I know he liked Nodl.- 1

Yikes. Any chance you mean David Rittenberg? I wouldn't have known him back then and I don't think I've noticed burns, but he lives in Penn Wynne, which is Lower Merion (Wynnewood) or did, but I haven't seen or spoken to him in years. Just thought of him based on your post.
I looked it up in the news stories and it was David Rutenberg. On the 25th anniversary of it his mom said he didn’t want to talk about it to the press and there were no photos of him. But yeah I was 15 at the time and the sight was gruesome. What an awful experience for all involved!- 1

I saw Senator Heinz' crash onto the soccer field at Merion Elementary School.
I didn't see impact with the ground. His Piper collided with the helicopter. I must have been about a quarter mile --maybe up to a half mile-away. Of course, I had no idea who was in it at the time.
Ironically--and I just now realized this by looking at the Wiki of the crash--I lived in Narberth at the time and like I said, maybe up to a half mile away. The Piper flight took off from Williamsport Regional Airport--about 3 miles from where I'm sitting right now.
That's really the only time I've ever been even remotely close to something like that involving aircraft.
There was a kid at my Summer camp named David Rutenberg who was a survivor of that crash. 2 of his classmates were killed and he sustained burns on 60 some percent of his body. He was so disfigured that he didn’t look human. He was only 7 at the time. I hope as he aged he was able to get plastic surgery. -
Don’t forget about Hatcher and Rathje when you are talking about Flyers pylons.

Fingers crossed that it’s nothing serious

Lolz at Marchand...couldn’t happen to a nicer guy!
Playoff atmosphere in the building to go along with the playoff weather we have been having in Philly lately. Let’s go Flyers chants were reverberating throughout the concourse as we were exiting the building.

This is the best game the Flyers have played in weeks.
By far! Once again a good atmosphere in the building. If I knew for sure they would continue to play this well at home next year I would definitely renew my season tickets as the last few games have been fun but this team is so inconsistent that I’m still on the fence.- 1

It feels as if we are caught in a Hakstolian time warp all of a sudden.

I would like to hope it was a code of conduct thing in his contract. I am a sports official on the side and I have a strict code of conduct and if I got In a bar fight while I working an event, even though it didn’t happen during play Inwould likely be sent home. We also could be fired for stuff on social media so it’s not out of the realm of possibility that he breached a contract or code of conduct that he agreed to.
I wouldn’t be surprised either though if there is a PC element to this as well. If that is the sole reason I completely disagree and if I was JR I would fight it tooth and nail. While I abhor racism and disrespect of people I equally abhor silencing people with political correctness and the prevalence of the cancel culture. There are always unintended consequences to these type of things including loss of freedoms for everyone because of a few. I think we need to be able to hear difficult and offensive things sometimes so we know where people stand and how best to deal with them.

Thanks OR and everyone for your kind words. I always enjoy getting a little peek behind the orange curtain to see what is going on (Especially since I pay top dollar to this organization for tickets) and share with those who are unable to have the same live experience. This may or may not be my final report to everyone as I myself am seriously on the fence about renewing for next year.My decision will come down to team play and whether or not the address the concerns we raised on that day. As of now the team play is heading in the right direction but it will need to continue and be consistent. The management is another story.
We had this meeting a month ago and I still have heard bupkis from Mike Shane. When Shawn Tilger from the business side would address us he would give us his business card and ask us to email whenever we wanted anything. He was dead serious and the times I reached out he came back with whatever I asked. I was stunned at such amazing service. The staff of the Nationals? Not so much...
